Shouldn't there be some type of criminal charges available and/or even the possibility of a class action lawsuit on behalf of the individuals affected? ......

I will check that out. We are reorganizing our data center and it would be great to have a similar diagram to document where things are and then have status and drill down capability. Awesome!

Be sure to monitor shares that are assigned and only share what needs to be. Monitor permissions, make sure that you are not allowing too many permissions. Also, make sure that you have good backups. 

What was the results of your testing?

Was only familiar with Kiwi as a syslog server. I see that it can perform a whole lot more. However, our organization has upscaled to a SIEM to handle all the logging and traps. Great information though.
