I do see those resources as well, but just mentioned the others showing live data for us.
-
There is data in ours. First resources are "Top 10 Subnets by % IP Address Used" and "Last 25 IPAM Events".
-
I am seeing this but only on the alert with longer (more stuff or conditions) in the blocks. I don't know what to make of it either. My alerts appear to be working correctly.
-
I think I am running into this on larger network subnets. Discoveries work fine, but when I tried a manual import on the large subnet, it failed and crashed. I had not dug into it yet except to find this post.

The one problem I may have with this is I have many remote sites connecting back via layer 3 routing protocols, not physical links, usually through ISP connections. I am not sure how to do set this up in this case. We use a lot of Cisco EIGRP and BGP in our LAN and WAN network respectively. I do need to figure something…

I can only relay what the data center network engineer told me. They went to this version due to what ever last version they were on was causing the power supply indicators/logs in the CIMC to show the power supplies going up and down. They are opening a TAC case about the new version. I don't know if they were told to go…

That list hasn't been reliable for us. This may be because of how we set up alerts for different agencies/departments where the node selection is by whether or not it has "this" custom property and belongs to "that" support group. Then those alerts don't show up on the node page, even though they will trigger if that node…

Although I can give this Kudos and agree that this might help, most of our alerts are sent to Remedy On Demand(now BMC Helix). We have to send Remedy plain text or the alert itself would just have all the raw HTML code in it and be completely unreadable. Remedy doesn't use the code. This is kind of a vote for more Service…

Does building a "private" cloud in our own data center count?

I don't know how much change has occurred in the evolution of the database over the years. I know there have been schema changes, and I have been told that Config Wizard was supposed to "pave the road" and fix things. However, our current database has been upgraded for several years without being rebuilt. I have run into…

I have looked at the components in AppInsight for SQL and it seems to have mixed components. Some are SQL components, but some seem to be Windows OS performance counters. So host level in this case is to get the OS counters working I think. I have seen mixed results with accounts that were designed for the SQL portion not…

I would imagine that depends on your setup. We do monitor servers in both at this time. We have been using Azure and AWS mostly as DEV environments to explore use as production. But that said, the IP Subnets are directly accessible from our management networks here. There are routes to that environment and enough bandwidth…

This would be good to know for verification. I can see if an alert occurred in Message Center, but that doesn't tell me an email was properly sent. As a workaround, our monitoring team has a mailbox and we send a copy of every alert to that for verification. In our case, we have occasionally had someone asking us to verify…

I just a small loft outside the bedroom by the stairs.

I currently have a request to display the number if instances or thread count on a dashboard. The team wants this displayed, they have not asked to alert on it yet. In this case, the exe is related to a remote user connection for this custom application, so they want the visual of the number of connections to each server.…

I am not sure how immediate the disable sensor is. I have a resource showing these and they don't always clear right away when I disable a sensor. My thought was it might need to go through a rediscovery to completely update a node on a sensor disable. I believe the default for rediscovery is 30 minutes, but it can be done…

I would start with Message Center. I have taken a ticket from our 3rd party ticket service, BMC Remedy, and searched message center for all events related to the node (or interface or whatever). On an active alert in SolarWinds, I can see a History of Alerts on this Object resource that at least for us can show when an…

We are in the process of rebuilding a new SolarWinds environment. However, in our current environment, I am finding I have to restart services nearly every other day or it bogs down so much as to become unusable. Our teams hate SolarWinds currently as a result and it has a very bad reputation. There are a variety of things…

Nice! I just noticed the duplicated entry issue for the first time today and you have already fixed it.

I will need to work at getting the DB Manager to connect for me. I have not been at this agency long enough to get the credentials to connect that tool. However, I tried both copying the downloaded file to the reports directory and the Web SQL report method. The copied file runs, but has no entries. The Web SQL gives me a…

It looks like this will take a little modifying to get it to work. I am getting an error "Source entity [dbo.AlertDefinitions] not found in catalog.

I didn't change anything from the default. We just upgraded our SolarWinds this morning. When I saw our resource displaying this way, I thought I should add to this thread. Especially since the data is different from the UNDP data. I spot checked about half a dozen of our UPS devices and see the same issue. These resources…
-
I have this same problem. I still have the UPS UNDP polling in place and the data is there and accurate. The new resource data looks like dodo123's screenshot with the wrong data and wrong status of battery replacement.

Nice query! It works in SWQL Studio also. It will solve problems on unknown credentials when we rebuild SolarWinds with new OS and updated Orion versions. But it does bring up the question of how secure are these credentials in SolarWinds.
-
One way is through dependencies. Once turned on, the system tries to determine dependencies and then suppress downstream alerts. In our environment this works reasonably well at layer 2 for network devices. It has trouble with layer 3. for those, I try to put in some manual dependencies to quiet things down.
-
I had something similar to that in Network Atlas as well as a couple of other issues with NPM not being able to list resources. Applying the Orion Platform v2015.1.2-HotFix2 fixed the problems.
-
Nice! I can see lots of different uses for this.
-
I actually have the same problem. I have installed OrionPlatform-v2015.1.2-HotFix5 and still see the issue daily. We have manually run database maintenance several times. Our DBA spent some time examining the database and doesn't see any issues with it even though I still get the message from SolarWinds daily. I will be…

At my last job we monitored the management IP of the HP 3PAR. That gave us basic node up/down, some CPU, memory stats, but that was about it. SRM would give much more. We didn't have that at the last job though.

This looks reasonable.
