Fashionably late to this party - I'm not surprised but delighted to see SW on this "report" - I'm often asked to go get information on products and this is one of the tools I try to start with to get a sampling and then I spiral out from there on which ones are lightweight user/feature focused vs. let me sell you our…

I'm stunned. I wasn't presented with the opportunity to meet him in person but his positive impact & contributions will be far reaching; as they already were here in the community. I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts.

So if the world woke up tomorrow and there were no more IT pros (Think about that - across the board how far reaching we truly all are) I don't think many people would honestly notice - at first. Now I'm also envisioning the white/grey/blackhats are all gone too, maybe just the script kiddies are left to inherit; I dunno.…

Always interested in your thoughts dude! "Busy" lol who isn't my man.

shidoshi1000 Nice article! As one of those Government IT Pros - I would caution anyone and everyone not to conflate "Monitoring" and "Alerting" in network management. I struggle with my internal customers, users, and stakeholders separating these concepts a lot. My fellow MVP zackm can school anyone on some alerting…

Alerts or Notifications? Focusing in on #2 - but relates to both. I do not want to look to 3rd party platforms and the headaches that can lead for a thing, in my opinion; that should be part of the initial solution.
-
Well done. Commitment to customers and response to our needs is great.

My close family has absorbed some of my ways just by being constantly around me; so I always get a charge when I see someone performing RCA on a problem and they only come get me when they get stuck. My larger family just thinks that I work in a weird underground building, in the dark, plugging things into the internet…

Likewise - I'm really looking forward to this feature.

Well it seems to be doing it by the "Feed" - so theoretically if those can be customized - then your pushes should be customized - so is that "one" feed per Orion instance? Or can we make multiple feeds? Thats where I'm at now. Just a generic "[Feed Name] has a new notification" is worse than email - cause it really…

Yup. This is what I'm interested in knowing - or if another service's API Key is easily substitutable Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Forecast.io, Wunderground, etc. OR are we locked into MapQuest. Yikes!
-
Sounds pretty likely to me. I think I kept searching for AppInsight for Exchange & Unknown Status that wasn't bringing me to a solution. I'll check with my Exchange Team on this and see if it clears it up. Thanks man!

I received a similar response. I'm seeking some clarification. My boss will not be happy if we have to get some type of additional paid account to use the WorldView map that "worked yesterday." That effectively makes that resource DOA and we might as well roll our own maps with whomever's Geodata suits us best which is…

Not sure I agree with you man. If you're under maintenance and you have an issue - you should definitely be reaching out for support. Now I don't think you should act like a jackal towards them but ask for help? Sure. It is a little odd they didn't see this one coming but maybe MapQuest didn't publicize their changes or…

Dude. This is so true. Ownership of a role (be it a Magician of all the Things or *INSERT CANNED JOB TITLE*) can give you empowerment, and when you wield that empowerment you become a force to reckoned with; you give yourself that authority. I think a lot of people focus on "waiting" for someone to award that authority to…

I'm working on my installation - just got push notifications on my stuff - it was awesome - but generic to the feed so now I'm looking at how to customize the alert feed from Orion. I have high hopes for just what it is. Lemme know how you're doing on your end!
-
Hey Kevin - still no points...
-
Yup. That key is all kinds of "up in there." Though as others have said (ahem planglois ) perhaps from these events; some Feature Request bumps are in order - * * * * Remember THWACKERS - your votes translate into what they gear development towards. The admins are listening

Thanks aLTeReGo

Thanks Jeff!

"This documentation assumes that you have basic knowledge of Leaflet." Well. I'm out. LOL. Today class, we'll be experimenting with Javascript, usage of the Leaflet Javascript Library, and API Key usage.

This explanation it great. Thank you!

Thanks for the info. That's kindof what I was thinking.

Winner Winner (Food of choice that you get yourself) Dinner! Thanks! That's pretty sweet.
-
That was brilliant! Thanks! Also as a little bump, I decided to filter using that fancy WHERE clause (that always makes me think of KLAUS!) NOT IN function to yank all the disabled tasks out of that list, cause if the engineer on the box disabled it - I "shouldn't" have to worry about it. Though I suppose a "master" report…
-
It only gives the ability to select from the "Group Name" columns for Orion objects - assuming that that source is being read from the prefab "Nodes with failed tasks" SWQL that I posted above. Thinking that's where that data would be selected and then be available to be pulled into the Custom Table. Not looking to…
-
AWWWWWWWWWW - that's ok. Those are also good options. You can pause the real time stuff though right? So that's something there. Totally down for user-configuration saves across sessions - I'll leave you geniuses to figure out how to pull it off. Thanks for answering!
-
Thanks aLTeReGo ! I think I actually saw that post but for some reason I didn't see your response below it. Weirdsville - but it seems to have resolved the monitor. My DBAs will rest easy now.
-
Yeah - Fish out of water. :( Sorry I couldnt be more help. Though you do need to remove this "(Nodes.Admin_Owner = 'NOC')" Cause that's my Custom Propert.
