Run a regular MSSQL Agent job every x minutes to query the status of the custompoller table(s) (IF poller status = "on battery" AND node status = UP), ..... I have been trying to figure out a way to do this for a few weeks with Orion alerts and have not found a way to do it. I think your suggestions would work for this.…

I haven't had a chance to install SP4 yet but I do have a question. Are the checkmarks saved across pages? IE: If I need to check 3 devices on page 1, 5 on page 2, and 1 on page 3, can I do it in one process or will have to do it in 3 processes? I just tested this functionality, and it does not remember the the checkbox…

absolutely! There are quite a few cases I can think of, off the top of my head, where this would be handy.

I'm in the boat here. Netflow service on the NTA DB server seems to just stop working. I am usually able to kill it via task manager, then start the service via windows Server Management. If I try to restart the service directly from Windows Server Manager, it generally hangs when try to to stop the service, then displays…

It is possible that adding more memory would help. The server only has 2 gigs. However, my SQL database is already on another server. I'm to speak to our VM guys and see if they can give me my NPM VM another gig or 2. I still think there's something else going on here though. Everything was running fine up until a week and…

Thanks for the response Karlo. I do have a case open. Case # 113419. I'll go ahead and answer some of these questions now. I'll take a look at the SNMP traffic and get back to you on that one. I HAD 11 wireless controllers(about 35 thin APs) being monitored. I have removed those today to see if that might be the culprit.…

I've tried to install SP2 but none of the services restarted and the NPM still shows SP1? I'll open a ticket...again! sam I had this exact same problem. Support walked me through resolving this. The problem was with the Solarwids Information Service. In my case the application was not even installed. Support had me run the…

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like the group option is the way to go. Is there an efficient way to drag multiple subnets to a new group container? The only way i can figure out how to do it is to drag each individual subnet into the group. This will take quite a long to time put all 300+ subnets into groups. Is there any…

Has anyone had this issue where Firefox is being used? We had to reset three times last weekend. A co-worker using FF was not having the nagging hangs. I have since loaded FF 3.5 and NO issues since Sunday.... and i have been abusing it..... I use Firefox almost exclusively and have experienced this problem quite a bit.…

I'm planning for a very similar infrastructure upgrade. So I'm glad this topic came up. I think kweise has a pretty solid method laid out. But there is one thing I plan to do differently. I want the existing servers to continue working, on there current version, for a bit, while I get the new servers up and running and…

If those screenshots were from a UDP, I would love it it would share. Pretty please!

I'm having the same issue. But it seems to only be effecting my VSS 6500s. We have 2 VSS setups and 5 non VSS setups. On all of the newer 6500s (2 non VSS and 2 VSS) I have the same problem. Memory showing 0. On the 3 older 6500s, the memory shows up correctly. I would have to do a little digging to get the exact model…

I had to remove 2 lines fron this SQl report, as it contained reference to a custom property that was unique to the uploader's database. I removed the following 2 lines to make the report work: Nodes.CEVA_Data_center_Network_Device as DC_Device, where Nodes.CEVA_Data_Center_Network_Device = 'TRUE' After making that slight…

Hey CJ, I just download your latest version, with the script split into multiple files. The NTA and the UDT scripts working, but not the NCM. I am getting the exact same error as before (see my post above, from Nov. 6). I am running NCM 7.1.1.
-
Cagri, I an running similar versions as you, and am also running this script. Everything works fine except for the NCM piece. So the only thing that you loose is the ability to link directly to the switch config, from within IPAM. To me, that's not too big of a deal. All the other information it gathers is still very…

That is the option I choose when I opened it. Wasn't really sure which to choose, and that was the default. I know this is an "unsupported" script, but if you have the time, I would be more than happy to do a GotoMeeting with you, so you can take a better look. I hope that this will be come a standard release, in some…

I pulled the following select statement out of the IPAMDashboard.ps1 script, as I believe this is where the script is failing. I tried to run this query in the SWQL studio, and I get the exact same error, in a popup window. SELECT ncm.NodeID, ncm.AgentIP, ca.ConfigID, ipn.IPAddress, ipn.IpNodeID from Cirrus.Nodes as ncm…

NCM version 7.1 {EDIT: correction. I am on 7.1.1, which is why the NCM portion of this script does not work. } Yes, NCM is installed on the same server as all other modules.
-
I have installed this in our Dev environment and worked like a charm. However, when I installed it in our Production server, I ran into a issue. Everything runs well until the scripts gets to the NCM portion. I am getting the following error, when running the script in PS. I have not worked with the Orion SDK before, so I…

My SW sales engineer sent me an email about this post. I have not tried this out yet, but I will in the near future. Assuming it works like the screenshot shows, this will be a bad a$$ addition to our SW deployment.

I am seeing the exact same thing on my system with that report. Shows fine with report writer, web view shows 2 months. I opened a case last week, but support has not proved a fix yet. the support engineer was no able to replicate the problem. Glad so see that I'm not the only one having this issue.
-
Same thing happens to me too. Sometimes it searches for the IP, sometimes it shows me the "build a router filter view".
-
Its Y2k all over again! Should we call it Y2k10?! Just kidding. Glad you found a solution.
-
Yes, you can do this. In Report Writer, under the the Field Formatting tab. Click on a field that you want to link (probably "name"). the last field is "Web URL". Simply put the url to the node details page here. The best way to find the exact url to use is to open one of the default reports, and copy the text of that same…

I think I know how you can accomplish this. You could create a custom property for volumes. Its say you call it "criticalDiskUsage".You then set the percent that you want to get alerted at. For the devices that are always 100% full, set the custom property to 101. for all others, set it to the desired level you want to get…

I have ran into this too, with this same report. It seems that report writer doesn't know how to deal with the beginning of the SQL script. It only know how to deal with scripts that begin with "SELECT". That doesn't solve anything, but that's what I have come up with when I was tweaking the report.
-
I run into this quite often too. The scans get hung up. I cancel the subnet scan that is hung, then all the other scans go through without a hitch.
-
I got the exact same error. Rebooting server now. Will try again after server recovers.
-
I am having the exact same problem. I cannot use netflow at this time due to this. Unfortunatly, I am tied up with some other issues and have not been able to get a ticket opened yet. If they provide a solution to this, please share it. Also, I am seeing this hit the NPM event log everytime the service starts. " The…

There's not an eary or direct way of doing it. Your not missing anything. It has to be done with a SQL script. But its not that hard. In the following forum, I have pasted code to rename the node witht eh system name. Also, just below that, I have pasted code that will remove the domani names from the node name as well.…
