This would be helpful to us as well. We have new users who are not part of our AD environment yet, but need access to NPM. We have to create 10 new local accounts, and 10 customized configurations. If we could create a local group to put these users in and apply the settings to all members in the group that would be…

I understand how it should work, but for some reason after over 9 months SolarWinds can't seem to get mine to actually work. We have 6 NPM instances installed and would really love to use EOC, but the alerts do not correctly propagate to EOC. If we can't get that to work, I can't release this product to our users, which…

Even the previous ones are not opening correctly. Looks like something is awry with sgizmo.com.

I think it is unreasonable to ask someone to create a local account on the server to use instead of being able to just add a local account, like I can with NPM. I'd like to be able to add a test account to test changes that are for non-Admin users that can easily be added and removed without having to remote into the…

Were you able to get the original node information to carry over to the "Acknowledgement Email"? I am able to replicate what you have done with getting an acknowledgement email, but in our environment we have a lot of teams, and need to be able to identify the node that was ack'd. Any assistance would be appreciated.…

Our company has several dozen small to medium sized data centers throughout the country. We have several initiatives in place to help reduce our footprint. One of which is server virtualization. If a physical server is needed, a lot of justification is required. On a larger scale, we are consolidating out data centers into…

This is available. Received this on May 9, 2017 from SolarWinds: As an owner of enterprise sized license, (NPM SLX, SAM ALX, etc.) you may have encountered times where you would like to try latest version releases in a non-production environment before upgrading your production server, or possibly test out customizations…

Looks like day 7 is linked to the day 8 question

We deployed Riverbed Cascade throughout our enterprise and leverage their enterprise profiler. Having these tools have helped us change the language from "you have a problem you need to fix" to now "there is a problem. can you help us find where it is?". It doesn't eliminate all of the 'its the network accusations' but has…

I think that either the ports should have the ability of "inheriting" the group of the node for the purposes of customizing views and reports, or, if you do create a unique group for the ports, when you go into add/remove objects, you need the ability to show ports and group by the Node Grouping, or by Node Custom…

Yeah, either the question is bad, or the answers are bad.
-
Also, the answers are all listed in ms, but PerfStack is showing the duration in "k" ms....or seconds.
-
Yeah, hope folks don't get "lazy"
-
Yeah, at first I thought it was a trick question, but saw a couple of the products had the wrong name, so was able to get past it.
-
Perhaps that will be a future release? We use Riverbed Enterprise Profiler and that is nice to be able to create a dashboard that others can view (not edit, only view -- if they want to edit they have to save a copy to their profile and edit). Of course you have to 'share' it appropriately or it will be private.

sgentile87, I tend to have that affect on people.

We contemplated moving some of our pollers "out into the field" away from the NPM and database, but opted to keep them all centrally located. While we don't get the "local latency" in the reports, we just have to know our WAN latency is there as a baseline. We had a lot of discussion on this and decided that the…

We used to frequently get notifications that our database needed maintenance, even with the nightly maintenance scheuled. We found a hot fix to address this. Orion Platform 2015.1.2 Hotfix 5 - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Specifically under HotFix2, but any HotFix beyond should address it (assuming it is the…

I responded a couple of times to the PM, but have not heard anything back. How long does it typically take to get the item?
-
Not yet. I do have a case open as we have 7 NPM's to upgrade.
-
Thanks Craig. We are in business!

You could deploy an APE at Site 2 that is the remote polling engine for the NPM at Site 1. However, as Dobbs said above, you will need to ensure the latency and connectivity between sites will support it.

${custom_property} worked for me. Which looks like would be ${Email} for your example.

FortiNet FortiAuthenticator 1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10

It would be handy to have this ability. To create a test user easily to test new roles before assigning to someone. To have to remote into the server, then go into EOC to make the changes then back into the server to disable the account seems a bit much considering the functionality exists in NPM.

I basically have the same question. I have a parent group with 2 nodes and only want the child group to be silenced if both the nodes are down. In my testing, the parent group goes to 'warning' and the child (and child group) shows warning [I only have 1 child in the group for testing, but have 2 parents in the parent…

edit the primary servername to be what it should be for end users to be able to reach the server. We have to do that every time we do an upgrade. If you use HTTPS you will want to be sure that the port info is accurate as well.

Had the same issue.

You should be able to create a custom property for the Interface, and configure your alert to use that custom property as part of the trigger. Keep in mind when you create a custom property, you can select the custom property for node, interface, group, etc.
