I finally got through my issue today while on the phone with support. The new main was still "stuck" thinking it was a Standby server. After a registry adjustment and another config wizard run, it was all good to go.

I just figured out the alert problem. The alerting service v2 wasn't installed...go figure. Re-ran config wizard to fix that. Post migration I changed back to my original IP's so it's not an IP/ACL issue.

Back in the day, I upgraded a user from a computer that had a menu driven UI to Windows 3.11. The user didn't know what to do with the mouse so I said, you just point and double click. She then proceeded to pick up the mouse and double tap the monitor.

We have a battery bin at the entrance to our building. Larger items get bulk taken away to someone that will re-use or recycle. All hard-drives are physically destroyed.

So somewhere I guess I didn't do something right. I deactivated the licenses while the old main was primary, then forced failover, ran the /promote, restarted services and it failed over to the old main.
