Tested that the Oracle Template from APM 2.5 use some special connection mechanism differ from the "tnsping" and "SQL*PLUS", but Solarwinds did not disclose on what are they? So some databases could be connected while some database could not be connected. Could not ask helps from Oracle as no information from Solarwinds.

My current ipMonitor is installed into a Windows server. I could not find the snmptrap.log inside the log directory, but I have already followed procedures to add the trap monitor under the monitoried devices. And I could see one monitor for above configured is below devices is listening.

Try to check if you may have used the db_domain inside your database instance. The Oracle Template in APM 2.5 should use the Global Database Name (db_name.db_domain). No information from Solarwinds as above is just my test results.
