Can we create the gMSA for the WMI polling account for Windows now on v 2024.4 ?
-
Wow, Happy birthday to Thwack communities!
-
Yes, please, I've been waiting for this, hopefully sometimes next year we can use gMSA with the Orion platform.
-
Yes, I also got confused in this article. Do I need to install the Azure Az module to execute the powershell script or it is using the latest Microsoft Graph API?
-
Yes, that is a great suggestion.
-
@"hpstech" , Thank you for sharing, not really, but that is a good start.
-
Thank you, @"mkarak" for the clarification, Is there a specific date or hotfix for this type of issue?
-
That's great, thank you for the clarification.
-
Ah, so that is a bug :-o Thank you for the clarification.
-
@"Lofstrand" , Thank you for sharing the article. I'm interested in monitoring the ESX host hardware Health Data as well, so can I still create the Admin role in the Center, but I do not have VMAN feature as can be seen from the screenshot above?
-
For Azure VM, so I know which VM to monitor.
-
Yes, @"Lofstrand" , I have tried that combinations but still failed. Do I have to add it in a specific way to the Main Polling Engine server first ?
-
Thank you for the reply. I will check and get back to you when I can figure it out in my system.
-
Yeah, I also haven't found any definitive answer from the SolarWinds KB article, hence I am asking the broader audience here.
-
Thank you ,@"chad.every" for the clarification.
-
@"naveensingh43" , Like this setting below?
-
Thanks @"bmrad" , Yes, it does have multiple features and benefits of WinRM over WMI. However, to successfully and reliably configure a machine to use WinRM (Windows Remote Management), we will all need to enable the service, set up listeners, and configure security settings like below: Enable the WinRM service Configure…

Thank you for sharing @"donrobert5" , The survey link has concluded.
-
Thank you ,@"mapujece" , I appreciate your reply, I managed to have this working already, but wasn't aware of the notification since the node is showing like: monitoring.domain.com/.../AzureCloudInstanceDetails.aspx I guess this process, as the above, cannot be automated, hence the alerting is not working.
-
@"weston.hood" , Thank you for the reply. Yes, that does make sense. How can I edit the existing rule or default template since a few hundreds of Nodes has been added already for basic monitoring such as Disk Capacity and Uptime.
-
How to implement the PowerShell script to the Nodes that are already added to the SAM?
-
Thank you ,@"SteveK" , When running the above PowerShell script you've shared above, I got this on the console: Statistic.StateReady: 223 Statistic.StateDisabled: 44 Statistic.StateRunning: 7 Statistic.ResultSuccess: 135 Statistic.ResultError: 22 Message.ResultError: OneDrive Per-Machine Standalone Update Task,Start…

Hi @"Mikno" , In 2015, our Solarwinds monitoring solution used a physical server to monitor the Virtual Infrastructure running on VMware. Now, it has been converted to a fully virtualised environment on VMware. Set up the Affinity rule to separate the Database and Polling Engines VMs to a different host to avoid resource…
-
THank you @"SteveK" for sharing the script.
-
THank you @"bobmarley" & @"marcrobinson", Yes, I can now see the option to change but in 50 selections at a time, not all of them at the same time? We have 1100+ nodes so it will be a challenge paging through 50 accounts at a time.
-
Thanks @"mesverrum" for sharing. Does that method you've shared will consume an additional AL license per Event or node usage?
-
@"JVFAB" , How did you go with the Event monitoring process, is it working now with the suggestion from @"weston.hood" ?
-
Thanks for the confirmation @"chad.every" , I've done those hardening on all of my SW servers, and there is no issue at all.
-
That's great, thank you @"adam.beedell"
