Continuing on... I will have to check to see if platform services are running as system. If I do a refresh then it shows the file was deleted on the web console. The configuration is still in the Config-Archive folder in Windows. The SQL client was configured when SolarWinds Configuration Wizard built the account. I did…

Thanks for the update on this. With my FP2110 and Solarwinds being off the net, I had to sneaker net it over. I had to make one change to the device template would fail because of this line: <Command Name="Version" Value="show version" /> I changed it to: <Command Name="Version" Value="show running-config startup-config"…

Glad you figured it out. Thanks for the FYI. I know that with all the flavors of IOS and IOS XE as well as their version, I didn't realize that the nexus line didn't use write memory.

ASA monitoring takes a little more effort than the usual network devices. Here is the additional things that I had to do beyond the usual SNMP. When you go to the edit node page, there is a Cisco ASA section for Advanced Cisco ASA monitoring. Here you put an account that has administrative privileges on your ASA device. On…

The target nodes (network devices) were set up to gather the SNMP information and push across via UDP port 161, but I will have to verify just to make sure. Otherwise, I will set up another server as a remote poller and have it push those through. Is there are ports that I should be concerned with? If I have to, I will…

I still have to wait for the program office to approve the use of 2016.
-
I understand it requires Windows Server 2016. SAML support is something that the organization that I work for desires for 2FA. The government wheels move slowly to get 2016 approved. I guess I may have to stand up a virtual server to test...

My thoughts exactly.

I have the same problem. I tried multiple times after downloading the Offline Installer twice because I wanted to install NPM 12.2 HotFix2. I already submitted my question and also submitted a request to support for assistance (Case # 1358454) because it was trying to download a file.
-
Okay, now I am confused. I am having the same problem as Selspiero, I did what you suggested and then I went to find the logs, but I don't know where to look for it. Could you please tell me where the log is so that I can troubleshoot or provide the trace for troubleshooting? I have this on some of the Cisco Security…

I know working with Tech Support that there were some permission, HBSS and GPO issues. We cleared the GPO issues and then took the server out from HBSS blocking any processes, writes, etc. Orion does not work with any platform services so it probably is running through

As @"network_defender" mentioned, we use Solarwinds products in a classified environment. We are working at 50% manning right now to provide the support required.

Serena, Here is what occurred as I did the install. I selected the products NPM 12.3 and NCM 7.8 (RCs) and off it went doing the system check. This is where the error occurs "Installation cannot continue. Save and review the System Check results to reolve the listed install errors. Run the installer again after resolving…

Here we go again! I tried to install NPM 12.3 RC1 (Solarwinds-Orion-NPM-12.3-RC1-OfflineInstaller.exe) this evening. The installation halted during the System Check and stated that there is No internet connection detected. If this is the offline installer, I should not be running into this issue. It is just like when I…

DUH! Never mind. If I had read more below this one, I would have found that SQL 2016 is not required unless you are using NTA 4.4. Thanks anyway..... I look forward to the final release of 12.3
-
Might be a dumb question. Are we required to have SQL 2016? In the government we upgrade as necessary and we are currently on SQL 2014 for our NPM and NCM installs. If it is required then I will have to request that our SQL server be upgraded in order to move to 12.3.
-
Just finished installing NPM 12.0 on a Windows 2012 R2 server. The installation went flawlessly. I didn't realize that this didn't come with SQL built in like the RC versions. What would be the best way to handle this problem of mine. I can't install a full version and I am waiting for the server administrators to build a…

Have you tried breaking that into individual jobs such as: Job 1: show version Job 2: copy running-config startup-config This way you can see the outcome and why it is failing with ERROR: Connection Refused In my experience, the problem could be when you save the configuration using the command "copy running-config…

Upgrade 12.2 RC1 - RC3 to 12.2 official. Seems kind of weird, but RC3 became the defacto official. Anyway, I have noticed some interesting anomalies that have been a bear to troubleshoot. First: One of my ASA devices would not show serial number and site to site VPN. In fact I have to make sure that only the Node Details…

Update. It happened to me again this morning. I attempted to log in and my username and password just went blank. I logged into the server and restarted the SolarWinds Orion Module Engine and then was able to log in. Any ideas as to what is going on with this?
-
Well it failed with the same issue of it trying to download files. I submitted a support case #27577.
-
I am having the same issue different file when installing Solarwinds-Orion-HotFix-2017.3-OfflineInstaller.exe. I noticed that it was trying to download a file and then it stopped installation because: "We are unable to download file Core_2017.3.5320.zip." This is the same kind of issue that I ran into when trying to…
-
Not sure if you did any updates recently... I installed the Core-v2017.3.5320-HotFix1 and all the problems that I was experiencing with Connections, Bandwidth and site to site VPN cleared up and I have all the contexts showing again.
-
I am having some of the same issues. According to tech support because of the issues with VPN, well at least for me the site to site VPN, there is supposed to be a hot fix or at least one coming out.
-
Interesting times indeed. The real devil as the say is in the details. Will Solarwinds be able to provide enough dividends to the "shareholders" so that they feel their return on their investment is enough to satisfy their desires for profit?
-
I noticed that you haven't received a reply since posting and I just finished configuring Solarwinds to backup configuration on an FTD device. First thing I did was to download this template: Cisco Firepower Threat Defense FTD-1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.2320.ConfigMgmt-Commands In Solarwinds, I imported the template and then…

Submitted Case #1355478 for resolution. Unfortunately, it seems that NPM 12.2 is not capable of monitoring FirePower Services module on the ASA 5512-X using SNMP traps. The only thing that I found is to create two types of alerts SNMP and Syslog which is supposed to send alerts to the appropriate server but doesn't have…

NPM 12.2's ASA VPN monitoring is great! I can select my favorites, but only 3. When you have a mesh, it might be good to see if more that 3 VPNs can be monitored from the summary page.

My experience with SFTP and SCP is the same. I know usually it gets frowned upon, I use TFTP and that works great. Just log into the Solarwinds server and start up the TFTP service.

Cool dashboard for Splunk. I know my indexer ingests the data from Solarwinds, but I just never got around to creating a dash board... too busy with my other jobs. If you could share it I would greatly appreciate it to see how I can integrate it. Thanks,
