Plus, how does one just stop the events for the log. Even better, how does one change the criteria before an even/alert is processed? In some cases, a response time of more than 100ms is acceptable! How can I change that before I continue to flood the event log with 56ms events? Mark

Please fix IPAM so that it honors DHCP settings for Reservations and Exclusions on the DHCP Server rather than just putting whatever IPAM wants into the records. When I want to assign an IP address, it does not honor and exclusion list nor does it use the correct terms that are standard in the industry. I have had a couple…

"Obviously, the bug was never dealt with. I still have the problem in 4.7.0 in 2019! So, I am back to my contention that bugs should be fixed before offering NEW products or at the least work continues on such with testing that actually does something ont eh older product(s). M

It would be nice to make this possible on the Node Summary Page using the variable of $Caption or $NodeName

One would have thought that this was included already!

For what release is this ? My Orion Deployment does not show up on my screen. (Orion Platform 2018.2 HF5, IPAM 4.7.0, NCM 7.8, CloudMonitoring 2.0.1, NPM 12.3, NTA 4.2.3, UDT 3.3.1, NetPath 1.1.3) I have not been able to upgrade due to SQL and the servers not yet upgraded. That is another bone to pick about updates vs.…

Everyone: This is caused by the conversion of NPM alerts that had "NodeID" as an undocumented column in the alert. When the conversion utility tried to convert it to the Web Version, it could not. Instead of disabling the alert and telling us about the problem, it simply stated that one alert could not be converted. It did…

I would ask to go one step further. If there is a "Custom Property" that has been added to "Custom Properties", then why are those new "I built them myself" properties not allowed in a lot of the "Custom Properties" options when building views and/or reports.? All of them should be allowed for EVERY view/report option. Mark

I agree and would like to suggest that clicking on a conversation would give the following: Since the information is already in the flow, it would be nice to get the TWO extreme endpoints singled out, not just the routers. The difference for this is that I want to see the destination endpoint for an on-net server or other…

"It is my opinion that BGP/Tunnels should be included to show what once was a "Leased Line" connection (L2/L3) but is now a "Virtual Connection". I would like ot see the information contained in the router interpreted by NPM to show Those critical connections as well. M

I am right there with you all the way. I would like to add that one CANNOT look for a USER without jumping through a whole lot of hoops to get any information. The views are so locked down that one cannot add items so that one could see the USER DETAILS and the current device(s) and IP and other stuff! I have been racking…

I'd like to take the discussion one step further. Many times, I have a need to put "Custom Fields" in displays and cannot put them into what already exists. Example: with a "Node Details" panel in a summary view of a device, I am allowed ONLY what SW has created. If I want to have other items, I have to used a CUSTOM…

I have been looking for this for hours now! Please add or tell us where this can be found!

Guys, I would like to see Orion and specifically Atlas, be able to see connections using the BGP table. Connections that are MPLS/BGP/Tunnel do not have "point to point" interface connections. Therefore Orion and then Atlas cannot see the "L3" connections. They do not exist! Could you please update the capability to read…

Couldn't it be solved to have a "Recently Deleted" function in "All Settings"? From there one would select Nodes or Interfaces. The timing for keeping these "Items" would be no longer than a set time, similar to other "Keep data for n". Even some e-mail providers allow for that so when we all delete something that we…

All, Good discussions! I was not advocating regulation for its own sake. Also, the dictation of companies as to content and social-economic status, etc. was only a MICRO point I was trying to avoid. The real problem here is still the "Standard Oil Anti-Trust" case that also has been used against the likes of Xerox or IBM…

NPM is a good product. NTA is ok. There are other solutions in the market that are better. Integrating the two SW products is pretty much done already. the problem comes when licensing is done. If SW just integrated the two products, not raising prices, that might be ok. But, raising the price on NPM is not a good idea at…

Oh, I know this is glib but, "It looks like Atlas is supporting the World-Wide Network....." Sorry, I had to do it! M

All, Be VERY careful how you look at this issue. It is NOT new. Precedence starts with the Telecom act of 1934 for equality for the then state of the art service called telephone. Don't laugh. Farmers wanted phone service.but, the infamous Telephone companies (yes there were several) just would first say "No" and then if…

1. Muhammad is correct. Make sure Anti-Virus is OFF. 2. Bring up Task manager and make sure that the Solarwinds install is running and not in conflict with another Application including Windows Defender. 3. If this continues, stop the process and bring down ALL Solarwinds tasks before trying again. 4. Check your resources…

Thanks for the trouble and working on it! I also tried some of those to no avail. Strange that one cannot just SEND the website and let the reply come back to the application (widget). Mark

how does one get an outside URL to populate in a custom Link in a widget? If one cannot use IFRAMES, how does one use Custom HTML? I really do not want to use User LInks. I want this to come right up in a "view".

It does exactly the same thing. The message is "portal.office.com refused to connect" with a picture of a sheet of paper bent at one corner and a circle with a line through it. Is there a restriction in the software (SW) that does not allow "HTTPS" URL's? This has been done in MS EDGE and works just fine on the same…

I have already set the security setting to allow for Custom HTML to work with any site. The results are the same. Going to this site on the same server with the same MS Edge browser allows me to see the site. SW HCO Custom HTML does not.

I am looking for this as well. In my case, I am trying to produce a map for each building (I've done that before) with devices included that show the actual location of each device. This is used for Helpdesk people that need to go to a device or NEW people that need to know where a device is located (at 3 a.m.) without…

ION Devices do not have a "show Run" type of command, as Cisco has. Is there a command for these (not documented well) or does one have to write a complete set of display commands to get the settings/configuration? I am already logging in with SSH in NCM although I just took them all out due to the present inability that I…

I too have too many events that don't need to be recording. GROUPS is the largest of these. I already know about the nodes that alert (or interfaces) and don't really want EVENT FATIGUE in the log from Groups/MAPS/ETC. Has then been elevated to SW for a fix/product update? thanks, Mark

I have looked at this and I guess, for the use I needed this will work. I really want a way to DISABLE all alerts and then ENABLE all alerts that were Enabled originally. Thanks for the help.
-
But, if one activates the alerts AFTER a scenario, They all come up. That is not what I want. Or, am I misunderstanding the action. Mark
-
This was not as clear as it could be. When you state "Alert Object" are you referring to AN ALERT or to each NODE that is under that alert? The "Filter" in the Alerts Area does not make sense since when I go to Manage Alerts, there is no such "Filter" option. Kindly explain this again. Thanks, Mark
