Absolutely.... Common sense is a beautiful thing... just a bit lacking for Apple in this arena... It only validates my new favorite expression "the world is full of unaware people!"

congrats to all

I personally am very skeptical that AI can do everything that people say it can. Some of my better "saves" came from a combination of experience and intuition. I'll take my gut feeling over AI any day!

For me any solution has to have a "good" ability to execute.... Solarwinds deserves it's high rating. I question Gartner's "Magic Qaudrant" these days.... I think it is an overused check box when trying to sell a solution. Just because it is in the "MQ" doesn't mean that it is right for me. I would rather seek out the…

I completely trust my team to always do a great job beause they are committed to doing so. (It's true!) I completely trust my family to help me out whenever I need it because it's what we do as a family.

It references the age old problem... Talking vs. communicating.

The SYSADMIN position continues to evolve.... From single vendor specialists to multi-vendor generalist. Our environments are both those we can touch and those we " touch from afar (cloud)". Networks and applications blend together in mesh of data driven requirements. For me... there are two realities.... in 5 years it…

Well said Radioteacher!!! Today we have "life hacks" and "game hacks" and so forth..... Hacking and it's effects are serious business and folks luck us usually have to pick up the pieces.

I am not sure how far is far enough. Dual control, multiple analysis systems and that old fashioned "second set of eyes"...

Interesting thoughts... Any change to the UX should be driven by a business need or the users themselves...(IMHO) I agree with Rick (rschroeder) that more is better. Power or very familiar users will have one opinion, yet the user who only "drives" occassionally will have another and then there is the "fear of change"…

I want one!!!!

New Orleans.... It's time for cities and towns to realize that a presence online comes with a price.. (and not citizen negative comments on municipal services)... Municipalities ride the wave of up and down financing due to budget/political preference issues. Given what exists in Assessor databases, tax offices and the…

Munich - Having some experience in municipal governement (as an elected official in a small town), the challenge is making all the niche players work well together. For good and for bad sometimes the answer is Microsoft. For this generation of decision makers it is much like the 60's and 70's when the mantra was "nobody…

appreciate it very much

Having been in both environments... each has it's merits and pain points. My experience has been in Siloed environments you are forced to speak to your opposite number, and there is a good chance you know who that person is..... Either way.... project management is the key to making it all work. Starting with "Check your…

My team uses "The buck stops here!" motto... - Yes it might be the app, we help the user get in touch with their support team! - Yes their website is slow ... we will rule out issus on our end... Tedious yes... required... .of course!

Nice work! Wicked cool!!!! (In another Boston type way!!!)

Uber CEO - I really don't understand why the CEO is still standing..... given the pressure the UAL CEO is under for the recent drag out incident. The Uber CEO has people accused of murder, rape and robbery. Not the mention that in Massachusetts (where I am) a bunch of potential drivers were eliminated due to things in…

sqlrockstar - wow... lots of outstanding material here.... Water - let's just say that openly inviting a variety of intestinal issues is not my idea of fun. Let' hope this trend "ends" quickly with a nod to progress. Meltdown and Spectre - Just in time to ring in the new year.... another chance to do the "happy patch…

I tell people I work in IT.... (it passes) I told my kids when they were younger, when they asked............... "When my phone rings in work it's never anyone asking me what I want to do for lunch!"

not sure.... but it would make one heck of an omlet!
