My Space.... The Send.com (remember The Giver???) of this era!

Facial recognition... Yes the jokes are way too easy, but remember, this software is a tool!!! It's meant to "aid" law enforcement, not BE law enforcement.
-
Lying is on par with the old ethical dilemma question.... "Did I go too far?" The best answer I ever heard on the subject was the CEO of a firm I worked for 20+ years ago, " If you think you are near the edge, you've already gone too far!" (great advice then and now!)

Bacon Pie!!! Yes please.... and keep em coming!

No doubt training and further education is needed. It is complicated when you are in a smaller shop because when people are out, others need to pick up the slack.... I try to use as many online resources and books as I can. I encourage my team to use online resources.... Further I make sure my team has one paid training…

Wow... really great stuff this week sqlrockstar Oracle - It might well be the new IBM.... Just because you are big doesn't mean you can compete... The best by far was the cash article..... I am reminded of the old British TV series " The Prisoner" where #6 is asked for his "card" to ride the golf cart around "The…

cooking fried clams and seafood and smelling like the fry-o-later, dishing out soft server ice cream, and playing gopher for a general contractor... hard work never hurt anyone... it made me respect those who did work at jobs that others may not do, it made me know what I didn't want to do and made school very important to…

Standardization works when people appreciate the fact that "we are all in this together", as these are adopted they become acceptable.................. UNTIL A new "idea" comes along to challenge the standard. This leaves us to evaluate and re-appreciate the new. Kind of like the tale of Sisyphus!

@"rschroeder" Seriously, my joke about MOTHRA aside, the moth issue scares me. Despite claims to the contrary, we really know very little about the "delicate balance of nature". In Maine there is a requirement to have all boats entering the state cleaned and clear of plants. This is to avoid invasive species from taking…

Terrific points made here.... In the rush to get on the ioT train... common sense and security sadly falls by the wayside.

great mini-mission.... we need more of these

Poor robot.. all he wanted was some good Russian Vodka... now he gets an ankle bracelet. War games... love the movie!!! "Flush the bombers, get the subs in launch mode we are at DEFCON 1!!!" that wave file used to play when my old boss at my last job sent me a meeting request.... The Google "Lady CFO" comment is an example…

The Bacon Edition - COVID-19 Style....

Part 3??? Got to see "Logan" soon... not really into the Marvel thing... got to broaden those horizons!!! In the meantime still enjoying the fact that I DID get to see "The Last Jedi" ... My opinion in the words of Master Yoda "The outcome, fine I am with it!"

IOT will bring the "hacker" experience to the average person in a most up close and personal way. Imagine the first time innocent items such as a thermostat, fridge, coffee pot get "hacked"..... annoying yes.... troublesome..... you bet! Now imagine your home security system cameras and all are tampered with...

Thank you... Good fortune and all the best in the future!

Haven't we all..... and my favorite.... forgetting to save the changes we made in autoexec....

What I loved... The ability to have lunch with my wife when I work from home. (She calls it "retirement prelude") Thwack (outstanding point @"KMSigma.SWI" !) Jeans all day! Every day! Having a great team that powered through some pretty tough and interesting challenges! I have gained a new and better perspective on…

Dear Network, I know you long for the day when I can leave you alone. However, your days and nights of peculiar behavior are troublesome to me. Know this, I am here for you... Every day and every night!!! I will support you, help you grow, mature, play well with others and help you better verbalize your problems. I will…

Training... the first ask in any project.... the first cut in any budget discussion...

The photo of parking in Germany reminds me of parking in Boston after any snow storm.... there are no rules... anything goes. Malware and banking article....More good news for my industry!

@"lmsherwin" great points on PTO..... Time for yourself is critical in keeping balance in your life. This year was supposed to be a trip to the Outer Banks with my camper. (We've rescheduled.... TBD. @"rschroeder" if I do it.... I'll send pix and details). I am fortunate that as I have a travel trailer(s) (yes two!, I am…

As someone who works in the banking industry, passwords and MFA are necessary for obvious reasons. The only problem is that most consumers WANT security except when it come the THEIR accounts. Oh the joy!

TURBACONDUCKEN - I want it!!! I want it now!!! AOL Layoffs - The better question is how many people still work there? Google and me - Great links.... it helps to know that they know what I may no longer know! Questions - brought back some funny moments from conferences past. Eating more food on Thanksgiving - let the food…
