  • I have done this in the past, for Orion 7. In Orion 8, the css are more convoluted, and it's a big effort to work out an inverted scheme that's readable. It always seems that when you get close, some bit of text ends up in black on black and disappears. I'm sure that some bit of Solarwinds internal documentation shows…
  • VMWare for example. I can get the name of the guest, the OS of the guest, whether it's running or not, etc. Trying to have that displayed well in Solarwinds is frustrating. If I could transform several of those into a single string and display it, it might be better. Otherwise the results are somewhat unpredictable, as…
  • True, but if you are running SQL Server as the database it will take advantage of the other processor. Also, I imagine that if you are running any of the other Solarwinds modules, they will thread independently.
  • I already added a node chart to the node details page, that works fine. .
  • Jon Were you ever able to use custom pollers with your WLC, and if so, what were you able to achieve? We are about to migrate from stand-alone APs to LWAPP with WLCs and based on the posts I've read, we will lose visibility with Orion.
  • You might want to consider making a map for each rack, and then a summary map with small images representing all 10 racks. Putting status icons from each of the rack maps onto the summary map will give you a nested set for the ops guys. The summary map will show which rack has the problem--clicking on the rack will drill…
  • I am monitoring some TrippLite UPS with a custom poller, but I am only monitoring the percent charge remaining. I am using the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.33.1.2.4
  • Sure. Drag the object onto the map. If it isn't already just an indicator, right click on the object and select PROPERTIES. In the properties window, choose an Object Style of LED or SHAPE, then use the pull-down to tune the shape (eg. Large or small LED, or geometric shape for the indicator).
  • I agree. There is a lot of hype on the web page you mentioned about monitoring ESX and VirtualCenter, but no mention of it in the current manuals. There is also nothing in the knowledge base. Someone at Solarwinds must have the information.
  • I would also like to have the ability for the color of a link to be governed by a traffic value, e.g. percent utilization.
  • The easiest way, if you are using Outlook, is to add a rule in "Rules and Alerts" that plays a sound file when an email arrives with certain characteristics.
  • That is excellent! Let me know when you have another version to try.
