Could you use users that are not Admins, and assign them just what they need to see, in terms of viewsa dn nodes?

great post cobrien. I am very interested in hearing from the community about this in general (is this how you view the troubleshooting process) but also more specifically: - How much time do you and your teams spend on this type of activity - what tools do you commonly use to perform these activities - if your network is…

Harrijs, Derik, Thanks for the input (and the walk, Harrijs). WAAS is not on the roadmap, because we don't see enough traction yet (growing though). The enhancement is opened (97948). At this time, creating UnDP pollers for the interesting OIDs is the only way. Talking about interesting OIDs, we have heard that the…

Seems like autoscale is the default and only mode for the Y Axis of UnDP charts; users cannot control the max (or min) value of the Y Axis. As posted by Brandon earlier, this has been logged as an enhancement request but unfortunately, this has not made NPM 10.1. (20153). This is still on the list for future releases.…

Hi Dfairles I hope this blog posting about the NCM feature in question, will clarify a few things.
-
So 2 things: the bandwidth formula and why it's more complicated than expected to redo the math manually. The formula ======== The formula that we use internally to compute bandwidth (in bps) from collected Bytes OIDs is as follows: bps = (TotalBytes – previousTotalBytes) / (PollTime – previousPollTime) x 8 The manual…

I would recommend it, yes

All, Adding your voices to this already opened enhancement request (39791). We are hearing your input about this and the UnDP in general. This is very much on our radar. Thanks for your input.

Will do

All, Thanks for your input about WAAS. Not on the product plan but we are recording your voices (97948). We have looked into this in the past, and at the time, SNMP support for WAAS was questionable. This document indicates that SNMP support is good, but does anybody know about the real-life implementation of the agent?…

Hi Byrona, Correct, nothing to do on your add'al polling engines, since NCM 7 does not leverage them. They should have been upgraded as part of your upgrade to NPM 10.2, so nothing to do on them. As far as the add'al web servers, the Orion Add'al Web Server module in your customer portal (se below) contains the NCM module…

Tks for the update.

Thanks to both for your information. Could each of you open a case (your issues might be different) and be prepared to provide Diagnostics. (89103) Thank you.

Hi Lbenton, Can you put a snapshot of this issue, just to make sure we capture this correctly.

Thanks John, added your vote (64016)

One more snapshot more focused on last 3 columns:

Added all these votes to the requirement already opened (90042)

Tks all for your postings above and special thanks to cnorborg who started the thread and Questionario for sharing his regex expression. I have created a feature request in NCM (50846), for a UI that would allow users to create rules based on this type of string pattern matching, without having to go to full regex. Of…

Hi, NPM supports the API of the ESX 3.5 which the ESXi 3 supports too, but the API of 3.0 is different and not supported. Here is a recap table of what is supported in NPM 10.2 and how it is supported (from NPM's Admin guide)

Updated in Feb:

Not really. You can display trendline in NPM and extend them "to the future" so you can "guesstimate" when your disk run out of capacity, but you would need to do that one by one "manually" and see which ones of your volume have a steep growth and are at risk in the coming x days. A more automated way to do this, is with…

Hi Rgward, What is posted here (I am assuming this is the one you said you have read), relates to the next version of IP SLA Manager.

ctopaglu, Sub-interfaces are supported in 10.2 for the SSG (ScreenOS), since this is where we had the most requirements. If you can send us a walk of JunOS sub-interfaces, we can look at it. As far as JunOs node details, we should be in decent shape in 10.2 (memory, CPU...). Can you be more specific on what you are looking…

nexicom, Thanks for your input. There is no "he who yells the loudest gets the support for products/features". On IP V6 the market was just generally not there for us, since we target a mix of Enterprises and Service Providers. It is moving now, and we have confidence that now is the right time for us to support IP V6. So,…

Hi Rgward, Working on next version of IP SLAM. You will see an update for IP SLA soon.

We heard all the good comments about Custom Property Editor in this thread and I wanted to give you a bit more insight about why we have not made more progress on this, so far. The reason is that we have plans for moving the Custom Property Editor to the Web based interface and whatever changes we would do on the current…

No real change on Avaya, but we are listening (26487)

Are all the devices that you want to discover topology between, in the SAME Network Sonar discovery profile? If yes and this still does not work, you should open a case.

Hi Tonyled, You might have activated your GA production key on the NCM machine as opposed to the NPM/Core machine (if you have NCM integrated w/ NPM which is on a separate server). This is one of the few helpful points made on this thwack post. If it is not, the best is to open a case, if not done already.
