1: the recommended procedure is to upgrade the SolarWinds apps first to a version that complies with 2012 and then upgrade the OS to 2012. I'm sure you've seen it but just in case this post tells you what product versions support 2012. 2: have not heard anything chronic affecting this upgrade, among our users 3: I'll let…

This is a known limitation (58012). We are looking at fixing in a future release. If you want to change credentials, the workaround is to create a new one and assign it to the node (vs. modify the existing one)

Hi, I sent you an email off line about a potential improvement in this area.
-
Will contact you off-line

Will look into this and report back here what I find.

Hi booloo, Seems like you need an NCM template for the IPS. There isn't on on Content Exchange, but this recently uploaded tools should help you building one: Let us know whether this helps or not

We don't have specific (MIB) support for the 5508, other than discovery and sysobjectid. The best way to know if there is an OID and know if we could build support in the future is to get a MIB walk. Can you send us one? FYI, a bit more info here:

I'm assuming you mean Juniper jflow or sflow, (Netflow is specific to Cisco) v3.11 (as well as recently released v4.0) , should have the following behavior: - sflow should work (sflow is by nature sampled) - sampled jflow should work, but we know that we have some issues with some devices (e.g. JunOS versions) that export…

Hi Hossein1982, Let me make sure I understand. Are you trying to report on node downtime from events as opposed to the ICMP/SNMP polling result? Francois Caron - Sn. Product Manager
-
Hi, Look at this recording it explains the basics of UnDP, especially table pollers starting around 6min50sec and how to combine multiple tables to create a mutli column table starting around 10min00sec Create a Universal Device Poller (UnDP) in the Orion Platform - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support As far as…

Are you using an eval. image? Or have you downloaded the image a few weeks ago? We have released a non-eval image with the SQL Express bits a while ago (and in this case the installer uses it), but we corrected this problem shortly after. A newly dowloaded (non-eval) image should not do this.

Don't see why it would matter. If your router can route any packet on 10 meg interfacesd, it should not matter whether some of these packets are actually generated by IP SLA operations . By IP SLA router I think you mean using them as "shadow router", so you don't bother the actual routers routing payload data and I think…

Hi Novethdevera, I'll add one vote to this already identified request (32781). In the mean time, have you seen this posting on the Content exchange forum? Let me know if this helps.
-
Tks for input, we will consider it (44906). Can others voice their requirements in this area?
-
Have you open a case (or several) about this? Does this happen when you do something on APM since you upgraded NPM to 10.2.1? Will ping people internally and post back what I found.
-
I am not aware of one but will confirm with dev. In the mean time, I suppose you have seen that you can visualize configs in the NPM-NCM WEB integration module (Configs / Config management and then Download) and select the config text in the page and copy/paste it in Notepad. This should give you the Cisco config in a txt…

Hi, I think an example might help me. Can you send me (or post here) your rule that is a mix of "must contain" and "must not contain", and highlight how you would like the violation to be identified? Also, I'm not sure it'll help, but just in case, you might want to look at this thread, abotu Regex in compliance rules:

Hi Paree-huff, In the Win32 app Policy Reporter, click File->Add sample Reports/Policies/Rule. This will add all the default reports back. However, this will overwrite the changes you might have made to these reports (if any). There is a pretty clear warning window that prompt for your confirmation before this effectively…

Recorded as new request (61955). Tks for input gfaircloth.

Hi Aaron, The issue you describe as follows "sometimes there are misfires of some TrippLite UPSes (have seen mention of others seeing the same thing), and when restarting using Orion Service Manager I get some misfires of old device reboots (which always gets me some calls from management or customers)." is an issue for…

Hi Maholmes, No plan for this new operation type, as of now, but we are listening (66156). Is this just a question or do you have a Medianet-based current (or coming) video deployment that you would like to monitor with orion IP SLA?
-
Hi Roberto. No, neither the SP nor the HFs are included. Please refer to this annoucement about SP1, for more details about the HFs. Hope this helps.

Still work in progress, but this should help.

:-) we are working on this recommendation. I'll post here soon.

Hi Rbascom, My read of your posting is that you want the Utilization % metric, displayed in chart and gauges, to be calculated based on the truly available bandwidth (50MB) as opposed to the physical speed of the uinterface, which your ISP does not give you full access to (i.e. 100MB in your example). Whatever solution…

Hi sjweinstein, What is the timeframe for the NCM additional collector feature? FC> As a public company, we cannot answer this question. Just as an FYI, when we have a beta of a given release (we don't have a beta of this, yet), we are usually a few months away from the GA. This is based on what typically happens for Orion…

Found this: Last clearing of "show interface" counters - The last time the clear counters command was issued since the last time the switch was rebooted. The clear counters command is used to reset interface statistics. Note: Variables that can affect routing (for example, load and reliability) are not cleared when the…

what vendor and what MIB? If we had a MIB walk showing us what a locked-out port (security violation) looks like from a SNMP perspective, this would help. In particular: - what is theis status in the SNMP MIB? - does the device sends TRAPs when this happens?

An interesting application of the API, in this node import script, described and available here.
