Hi, our client was having issue with high CPU utilization due to JobEngineWorker creating alot of threads because of access not being granted to perform the action, it had something to do with the antivirus i guess, anyways, TAC suggested us to migrate to another server and install NPM from scratch and we did, since then…

Only even testing the credentials for the server is resulting in turning off the service.

A few years back in 2017, i demoed DPM on a client and during the demo we came across multiple complaint from the client that their network was choking, and or the application was responding slow etc, after deploying the DPM and monitoring the Oracle and SQL databases we came to know that certain queries were in the…

I don't know about how much resources it uses, but it does the trick for me, where ever i have deployed solarwinds, SNMP for Networking devices, WMI for Windows Devices and ICMP for those that do not support SNMP/WMI.

client says he is keeping record of traps and events and alerts for 7 days. Is it acceptable to keep traps for 7 days or it is not a healthy thing to do?

I want to generate report on Node downtime which would show total duration of downtime in minutes. I am unable to find timestamp for node downtime/availability, i am only getting options related to interfaces/application but not node.
-
Thanks pparsaie, that looks like that should do the trick, but 1 thing i want to know is, when i am going to select the timestamp, in category it is showing different parameters, what i want to select is for node availability, but all options i can see are for either interfaces or applications, this matters because when i…

windows machines are polled by WMI, not snmp.
-
i understand that and i too recommend upgrading the system, but they said they are not going to upgrade for atleast 2 years or less than 2 years.

tell me more about removing the Netflow Events and Alerts from NPM. I want to take as many things as I can to the client so that he would be at peace. And I being a Customer support Representative would feel good to bring peace to someone, there is nothing more relaxing than seeing a client at peace.

so is the issue related to DB or improving the amount of Resources like CPU Hard disk and RAM? I came across a DB query to resolve an issue with the help of which some type of alerts are removed from a table. Check this out and tell me is it safe to do this or not? I found this: " SELECT Count (*) FROM [dbo].[AlertHistory]…

another cause could be that the system configuration would be not very high and number of nodes would be high, it has a lot to do with the system configuration, because for a short while the alerts are triggered successfully because when VM starts up, the RAM is free and after some time when there are many alerts the…

So i just discussed with the client, they said that they have installed NPM on vmware and now it has become so severe that even for a whole day no alert is generated when a node goes down or comes back up. He said when they restart the vmware then everything comes back to normal and after some time it becomes bad again,…

and one more thing, when the devices were added they might have the ip of another subnet for eg 172.16.x.x and later their subnet changed to 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x and they are up but the status is down.

Hi shack, there are always 2 conditions, trigger conditions and reset condition, you need to add a condition in to your reset that when an AP/WC status is up, reset the condition and send u and email that the AP/WC is UP. I hope this helps.
