Need user to have "Allow Node Management Rights" for only certain nodes (i.e. Cisco ASA's) but still be able to see all the other nodes and wireless devices. Set the account limitations to just the ASA's but now the user can't see anything else. Account management needs to be more granular!

Hey Brandon, this is excellent news! So will the functionality of this product be integrated into NPM and if so, how soon? I don't want to bother with custom pollers if this will be available soon. Thanks, FAST
-
Thanks for the quick reply but this does not help since I am using NPM syslog, not Kiwi.
-
You know what, I never did clearly state that it worked. The answer is it did and it was quite easy. All I did is create a new Comparison Criteria with the RegEx pattern "^!Time:". I've since added others for wireless controllers and ASA's and it's cutdown on seeing this junk in the change management reports.

Can you please tell me where this fancy section in the setup is that states "replace IP address with hostname"? What setup?
-
Yes. Didn't you see where I replied to myself with the answer? Are you having the same problem?
-
Yes I can TFTP from the 5508 to the NCM server using the commands you showed. File showed up in C:\TFTP_Root on the server which is running NCM v6.1 I attached the trace for you to peek at if you have a chance. Thanks again!

Thank you kahmeelyon!!! Your template works like a champ. I have a WLC 5.x controller that is not a member of our WCS and I haven't been able to get NCM to grab the config. I created my own template with the abbreviated "show run-config" command and couldn't get it to work. Copied and pasted your posted commands in my WLC…

That is not necessary. The device I am trying to list resources for is and has been polling for years. Doesn't matter what node I choose, same issue.
-
Got the exact process from a case I opened, see the following reply...
-
Please explain what you mean? I was told by two different Solarwinds support specialists that there is no way to filter events. James suggested that I post my request here.
-
No Nexus template. Auto determine has always worked fine for me.
-
You know what? Nevermind. I think I just figured it out using the comparison criteria function of the download job and creating a new pattern to ignore. I'll let you know if this works.

NCM 5.5.1 NPM 9.5 SP4

bcorgey, I tried your template using TFTP as my transfer option on a 5508 running v 6.x software and no joy. Any suggestions? Thanks
-
Thanks for the suggestion but this isn't what I am looking for. I would like to monitor the .dll application performance.
-
Why? It is a generic APM question. I just happened to be stating that I am using RC. This is not a RC specific question.
-
Thank you Brandon. That is an acceptable workaround.
-
Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm having the same running NPM 2019.4 with both the built in APC monitoring as well as the SmartUPS Universal Device Poller. I even tried upgrading one of my APC NMC's with the "The battery is not installed properly." issue to the latest version firmware, same problem. REPLACE…

Opened a case, got the details of the process and the following is the fix: 1. Stop all Orion Services at all Orion servers. 2. Copy the files on the path below: Root Folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VDC SolarWinds.Orion.DeviceContext.Strings.dll 8.1.0.135 Root Folder C:\Program Files…

Works great, even with ssh. Thanks!
-
Hey Chad I imported your poller and tried assigning it to 6 Ubiquiti bridges I have but I get "Not a match" for the scan result and therefor cannot assign. Any ideas? Thanks, J

I know this is an old tread but I had this same problem with a server and simply restarted the WMI service to resolve it.
-
This is pretty cool but how does it compare or contrast with NTA. I understand that it is not using Netflow but it appears that using a SPAN port and PAS may accomplish similar if not better results.
-
Never mind about this issue. Our NPM server was having other issues that required a reboot and now it is working.
-
Did you ever get this issue resolved and if so, what was the resolution? I am having the exact same issue. Thanks!
-
Ended up simply creating a template to monitor the DHCP server service.
-
I'm having the same problem after upgrading to 9.5 although I need to restart WWWPS multiple times a day. I applied the hotfix Friday and that made no difference. I avoided the upgrade for as long as possible but a license upgrade (SL2000 to SLX) forced me into this. Too bad because it's been a fiasco ever since.
-
Thank you for the post. Fixed my most recent (OF MANY) issues with the latest upgrades. I seached Thwack for this and could not find anything but yahoo found it here. I guess Solarwinds must have written the Thwack app as well...

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? My DB server is identical to yours monitoring a bit more elements. The website was always a bit sluggish running NPM 9.1. I just upgraded to 9.5 which was difficult in itself and the web was unusable. Ended up rebooting the SQL server and everything came back to life. Avg Disk Queue…
