AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!! Missed it due to issues.... We have Kiwi and LEM and could REALLY use to have something for troubleshooting that is not as difficult as the LEM. LEM is great, but for simple searching or alerting its a bit much... Looking forward to the recording!!

We are only CONUS so my MPLS stays here in the US. But, We are awtching over 16,000 elements, 700 applications, NTA at all sites, VNQM/IPSLA at all sites, UDT and NCM that hits all sites every day. We have 600 servers, 200 remote, 150 Riverbeds, and 2000 Cisco L2/# devies. We use a primary Orion server (32 CPU, 32 Gb) and…

These along with SAM are our two biggest assets. NCM has saved our butts too many times to count!

We use APM template to watch extranet websites response times. The HTTP monitor component works great and lets us know if basic traffic to that port is goot. You can use a port monitor to watch anything on the other end. We do this to watch our extranets, this way we know if the web is slow of if thier app/infrastructure…

A feature we would LOVE to see (we use this daily on our LanCope StealthWatch appliance that I want NTA to replace), is the ability to see the AD user name associated with a flow. In other words, IP x.y.z.a went to cnn.com and user Jsmith is associated with x.y.z.a.

THe best way i can think of to possibly find this info is via the wmi browser in Sam. We use this so ill check early next week and let you know what I find.

We are setup very similarly, although we do not use BGP. We have large plants with class B's and many other smaller sites with 18 and 20 bit subnets that all tie back to the core summarized. I would love it if we could determine which layer 3 devices that IPAM could use for auto population via the route table. Seems it…

My company went ahead and purchsed FogLight by Quest to monitor the VMWare environment. Is there anyway to know how much overlap I will have when the Orion upgrade is out? Anyone out there use FogLight? I need to make FogLight a paper weight :-)

Could you please add me to the RC availability? napoleon@familyofcrowes.com
-
Please include me in your RC release.... Thanks!!!!

Just an FYI: We decided to move to Solarwinds products and scrap Tivoli and many other appliances because of your service and the way you listen to your customers. You guys keep making me look good... Thanks!!
-
The "Find Connected Port for End Host " feature is going to be awesome!! Will it be able to tell us the AD username using that port? We use Locate by Etelemetry and I would love to mothball it.... Can't wait for the RC release!! Thanks all

I am doing a map right now. It is our first heatmap so I'm still finding the issues etc. My biggest issue right now is how slow it is to take a sample. I'll write more as I complete this map....

I am getting this error when I add a message.1 to the print statements "Can't identify dynamic column definitions from script output. Please, check if script output has properly formatted unique identifiers." No reference to this anywhere in the admin guide....

I just finished my upgrade to 10.7 and SAM 6.1 and I see the Vlans but no names or tags.... also, nothing for all vlans...
-
how do you monitor the mac address? is it native to NPM or a custom poller.... thanks
-
I totally agree with you Donald. I do this manually now. We are also working on a way to use vlan interfaces. If we can scan and import the config of a vlan interface we can get the description, IP and subnet mask. Right now our subnet table is over 1500 subnets. Thats a HUGE project and time consumer when you think of…

I totally agree, the filter and the ability to acknowledge should be in one resource... my users would be soooooo happy

Great job Radioteacher !!

I find that in RC 3 the hardware summary is blank for Cisco WS-C3560-48PS-S models... looking for more...
-
Did you receive an answer on this? I am getting many requests to watch databases much better. Tivoli does an adequate job, but now Orion must take over.... And do more, better, faster...
-
Yes, There is an out-of-box alert called VPN Site-to-Site tunnel down. (Orion Menu) Alerts & Activity / Alerts / Manage Alerts (search for VPN) You can "duplicate & Edit" this to meet your needs. Hope this helps

I opened a ticket on this when that table became 1/4 of my whole database. This is the response I received: This contains a list of changes to configs. Each time you download a config, NCM compares it to the latest Startup Config , if there is a conflict, NCM marks it in the diff cache table within the database. This table…

I am now running the flow module, and all I can do is get a graph of top talkers (IP or Port)... I cant find the data in nDepth so this graph is the only data that seems to be useful...

Im still only in submitted mode....

Still waiting on the swag bag to be delivered....

After installing the HotFix it is working, although it shows MANY duplicates. I see the same user multiple times making the numbers unreliable.

vote this up so we can get more control over our log files... https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/4580

I second the motion.... :-)

Yes. We run NPM, NCM, SAM, IPAM, UDT, VNQM and WPM all on the same VM primary server (5 additional pollers due to quantity of nodes) and a VM SQL server and a NTA DB server. Its running well and has been for many years. The integration is great to have all that just a click away and you can get very creative with…
