I am now getting the same error on 22 applications (out of 326). unmanage/remanage has no effect. rebooting the servers tonight to see if that helps. Also opening a ticket...

We are very alike then, but I alert on all MPLS, and DMVPN circuits/tunnels (over 250). Plus any down device or excessive errors. All time clocks, Riverbed issues, VoIP/QOS critical queue drops, APC battery issues, and many more.... We generate over 200 tickets per day, and since its manual, automating the tickets would be…

Hot Fix worked great..... I am once again singing the praises of Thwack and the tech support techs.

Will this show the "LogSpaceUsed" statistic? The log file always stays the same size, I need to alert when it gets full.... My DBA's dun the command DBCC SQLPERF(logspace) to manually see the log space used. I need to automate and then alert when its over a threshold. The command returns a table. not useable by Orion. any…

We are looking at doing this very soon, but one thought I had, can you run multiple web servers? Idea is that we all hit the separate web server, but as a backup we will have the other web server....

Im having the same issue with my case....

Are you still configured this way? We need to optimize our web server and I just want to move some things around to take some load off my main Orion server. I have a main server with 32 CPU and 32Gb, two VM pollers a VM NCM server and a 16 CPU 48GB SQL server that holds our 120Gb database. I'm not to good with web…

RC means Release Candidate. A new version of NPM is coming out and before is goes public, a Release Candidate is release to users with maintenance and who want it. We users then provide feedback with support access and help make the platform more solid. This is a step between Beta and General release.

My server/applications teams would like to see what services are running. This would include events that would state if a service was turned active or shutdown. Alerts are not important. So far as CPU/Memory usage by each service, that would be nice but it's not driving the request. Thanks!!

This is the one I'm using. I'll need a long term solution, but for now I'm greping for the "error" with output to a new file. Then the log parser will alert on that file.... A bit clugy but it should work.... Thanks

I have alot of beginner users that never leave the dashboard. If we had a class that centered on the basics of using Orion NPM, SAM etc I think that would be very helpful to the newbie. They do not need instructions on setup, or admin stuff, just how to use the system efficently. The idea of tips and tricks is terrific…

FYi: happy to work with UX, but I'm on vacation from the 5th to the 15th...

Well we are complete with upgrading NPM 11.0 to 11.5, SAM 6.1 to 6.2 IPAM to 4.3 and WPM to 2.2 along with upgrading to the UDT 3.2.1 RC on a main poller and 3 additional pollers. We installed every HF we could find. So far there are some minor alert issues from the conversion and an annoying UDT banner message, but we are…

Does this work with version 7 WLC? It keeps telling me "it's not a Cisco device"

I spend all my points getting shirts for people in the office. I don't do my job alone so the people that help me end up with a lot of swag. Polo shirts are the most popular, and I think I've bought over 50 packs of buttons... they're everywhere at work!

Does SAM 6.0 support the pSeries devices via SNMP or the Director agent? Does this include xSeries? We have systems that run many LPAR's, and I'm trying to find a way to monitor the system. We had the expansion chassity fail and we only had a minor alert on the drives associated with the LPAR's on the system, ICMP still…

Great idea.... LEM tab... Riverbed dashboard page, OpNet details, etc that can be html or API links into the 3rd party applications.... That would truely make this the one stop shop!!

I agree nickzourdos has a nice clean idea....

I have done this many times with no effect. When it first started, I told my engineers to do this and they said it didn't work... naturally I called them names and made fun of them, but had to eat my words later.... I think normally this is the answer, but in my screwed up world , Murphy says no.... :-) I will open a case…

correct, its still a pain because you need two graphs to showthe data over a period of time but its better then losing all that data. We keep two years of daily data for trending and it really messes that up when you replace routers every three years. I'm looking at possibly finding a way to take the data from the old…

Thanks, BTW Gerald did a great job.... Demo works great for me on Chrome, Firefox and IE 8

This is a high priority now due to the quantity of trap groups that are considered critical. Is there a possiblity for a hotfix or an updated resource I could copy over?

A big issue for me is that these syslogs are not stored on the "lasso" server, they are forwarded. The lasso server pulls the event logs from all my servers, converts them to syslog format and forwards them to loglogic. I pointed the forwarder to LEM and it sees nothing. But, I pointed a bunch of Cisco switches and routers…

SWEET!!

I am looking to monitor the LEM as well using Orion... Just standard Linux monitoring... Can we use the Linux monitors in SAM? CPU, disk space, zombies, etc?
-
Totally agree.... Solarwinds is the the most attentive company to thier user base that I have worked with.... and I'm an old dude! Also, the service I get from my sales rep, Craig, and Jordan, along with the terrific support from tech support i(latest is David) is the reason we are loyal customers and are throwing Tivoli…

what table?

Well, I'll be enabling this today, so I'll let you know what we think of it all :-) Thanks

I could REALLY use the ability to alert on traps and syslogs with the advanced alerting engine
