My thought was the chassis serial number. My management has a nightmare of a time every year when maintenance contracts come due. Finding what was replaced and what changed is hard but if he can lookup a sn# and know its online, that would help tremendously. And thats just the main reason...

I tend to agree, each of our 150 AIX/Linux/Red Hat servers are all a bit different. We installed 5 servers as a test and not one was setup correctly. The time I then require from my Unix team becomes excessive and therefore it never gets repaired. I have no idea haw to streamline this since so much on a unix server can be…

I like it... its a start, but I would like to see the name of the path.... 2 bad and 20 good is fine, but useless on a dashboard where people look and have to react, not research.

dont forget to vote on your own idea We use a custom field to add the number and a script that grabs it from the DB to test. I think it failed a while back and noone care enough to get it back online, but this would be nice if it was built in... May be difficult to have a dialout associated though....

I'm now on day two with 10.5 with no issues. We see benefits, such as the routing and multicast resources, but nothing negative. We run 2 additional pollers, NCM, SAM, VNQM, IPAM, UDT and NTA with LEM on the side.... We run 24/7 and there have been zero complaints. I have MANY custom properties, reports, UnDP's, custom…

I couldnt agree more... PERL is great, but I stink at it :-( Other features look terrific, but 6.2 and 11.5 were so full of features it may take me a while to get them all set in our environment.
