Thanks @"KMSigma.SWI" for pointing it out. it works like a charm
-
@"kishore574" someone from Development in your organization would be able to help in creating the discovery profile using the API method. You can also surf thwack for the discovery using API.
-
@"christopher.t.jones123" you are absolutely correct, we have centrify through which we manage the domain access to the Unix boxes. @"arunbhandari05" please try sudo instead of dzdo, if you are using some other application for domain access then check the specific command which will be used, you linux admin team would be…
-
Have you tried creating a recurring discovery profile for those said ranges, using the traditional way of network discovery
-
@"arunbhandari05" please let me know if the account you are using is a root/Sudo root account. Because that is the basic requirement. Also if it is a local user account of a domain account.
-
Sorry for the very late reply, got hold of my account few days back. Anyways i dont know if this is still relevent to you
-
Unfortunately i do not have any other methods for auto discovery using scripts apart from API.
-
@"arunbhandari05" please include dzdo command before Perl in the script argument.
-
If you have expertise then you can use the Solarwinds API through which you can create automated discovery jobs for your environment. Before proceeding please keep in mind that Solarwinds support does not support API, so it is best you test this in any lower environment. Solarwinds Discovery API

Yes it has the root credentials, the issue was only that we had to include "dzdo" command at the start of the pearl command. After that it worked like a charm
-
I just got it working, turns out whenever we are adding a linux script monitor we should edit the script and test the component first. For the resolution of the issue we performed 2 critical steps. 1. the Service account which we were using was having root privileges but we needed to include "dzdo" command in the command…

Hi @"sgideon", first we were facing issues with the linux parser script because of the service account limitations, now the problem is that we have around 10 log files on every server which we need to monitor that to with 2 different error strings. What i did is that i created a template per node and added the linux script…
-
@"sgideon" Can you please let me know how did you got log parser to work, because when we are trying and testing on the log file it is showing me no error is generated. But we have manually inserted the error string and string was also present in the log. But could not understand what is going wrong, because all tests…

@"christopher.t.jones123" Here you go Query 1 select Count(Distinct N.CustomProperties.SERVICENOW_LOCATIONS) as Region_Count FROM Orion.Nodes n where N.CustomProperties.SERVICENOW_LOCATIONS <> '' In above query i am trying to get the count of the locations we currently have in our environment. Query 2 select count(Name) as…

@"christopher.t.jones123" thanks for your reply. I do not have any thing to join on, i dont know if there is a way to directly do subtraction in SWQL, if you have anything in that regard that would be really helpful

Hello Dfairles, I dont know how but after performing the steps in the below link Success Center the discovery started working. I think because of some old subscriptions in the database my orion instance was misbehaving. Hope the above solution helps you too.
