Always room for improvement but Observability On Prem, splunk, OnTap, Tenable.sc, MECM, RH Satellite, etc. do the job pretty well.

I have to disagree about Apple... I've seen this show before... they better start innovating again soon. Pixel camera night mode is a perfect example of what sitting on your laurels will get you Apple.

You're correct about Europe... they've been chip and pin for years now... about the companies in the US... their track record isn't so good so! You can't hack this!!!! And the new chip and pin bank machines that will give hundreds is the bomb!!!

I was thinking about 10.x Orion when we would modify the the installation to add functionality. This isn't really necessary now but then we had to reapply each change after updating... and updates back then were much more let's say involved. Some of my experience with automation has been a total disaster before... it's a nice goal. Actually Orion has made some of the issues I used to deal with easier now... I guess you could call that automation!

I completely agree with this statement. It's really complicated stuff... as you say the number of variables is mind boggling.

For openstack to be anything you'd trust your business to I'd say HP or RedHat or someone needs to be on the hook for support... We use VMware vCloud and now NSX... I'm interested in openstack but when I have a real problem I can't get my support from newsgroup or on github.

Like push button wifi security... it automatically connects devices to wifi without user having to understand much of anything really and it's secure!
