I kinda thought the same thing. There are a bunch of people into astrology though...

We all like the new features in 12.x NPM... now if I can just get everything upgraded!!! I can't wait for this new intelligent installer that's coming... it's my hope that this greatly improves on the upgrade process!
-
Somehow I've done ok this month! The subnet one I had to think over a little though. It kinda threw me at first.

Wow those are both some pretty nice links there! That pdf I would have never found I don't think.

One of the neatest new tools I've seen for netflow is liveaction. The product was originally developed for the Navy to allow them to visualize all the netflow, IPFIX, nbar, etc. in their flows so they could reconfigure each ship as it goes into different ports all around the world and adapt to each unique network…
-
I wish I'd known that... I'd have shorted them in a second! You may find out some people do get charged with a crime... although they'll do no time most likely. It'll be a financial tap on the wrist I bet!

I discovered that, in addition to a different kind of golf, they also have a very different kind of whiskey.

It takes good writers to make good movies. I like all of the superhero movies and many have actually been written quite well. People that aren't interested in sci-fi miss out on a lot!
-
Amen to that network defender!!!!

Maybe vi but not edlin.

Here's my scary geek speak this week sqlrockstar -> https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-c… Pretty dang scary and the fact that they made one chip so small it fit between layers of the circuit board is really terrifying!

It's like people still running Windows XP.
-
I'm not totally sold on AI and ML being huge helps just yet but... I will have to say that the new Cisco Encrypted Traffic analytics is interesting though.
-
The update is worth it @Radioteacher I have some to update still as well but I worked with UX team on the changes... all good stuff!
-
I see what you're saying but I don't believe internet is a right anymore than owning a house or having a car is. I also don't buy into: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Didn't need the hint today!
-
lolololol!

Perhaps this is a great plug for NPM and SAM as well for on premise and cloud monitoring is what I'm thinking?
-
as byrona said... I'm a little lost about all this devops... I suppose it's just a new name for things we've been doing for long time.
-
I got day 18 by looking at my own Observability self hosted under connections in intelligent maps.
-
It takes a little while to learn the firesite but it's great... so much more information and all from a web browser.
-
Good point.
-
I first learned assembly in college on DEC Vax! We had to write some C and assembly and then link them as an exercise. My assembly book was for a PDP-11 but we actually used newer DEC Vax.
-
I still think devops is just a new word for doing things a little differently. It seems in IT we need some new vernacular every few years to follow.
-
Woohoo!

WalMart has always also allowed Truckers, giant recreational vehicles, busses, and others to use their parking lots for various purposes.
-
Some of this is probably inevitable... for us it's probably going to be dark fiber to a DC to run jobs that aren't really sensitive at all. I've already heard rumblings about O365 and I'm not excited about it at all... mainly because of the horror stories I've heard from others. Some day it'll be ready for prime time...…
-
If only our proxies didn't all block the chat provider now... they didn't use to... I guess they caught on??? I know you got hit too!
-
That's a good question because no matter how much memory you give SQL Server it will use it ALL up.

Deep fried coolaid and coke ftw!
