Let's hope the new network atlas for NPM can draw a little better this next version.
-
lol yeah I have 4 of them at least... the first 4.

This is mandatory for us under RMF. It's not a choice really and you can lose your ATO if you don't do it.

If that's your dog in your profile you've got a nice looking dog @"zennifer" ! Dang the bright blue eyes wow!

My week 2 day 3 shows green checkmark and the sentence in the post has almost verbatim to the multiple choice answer. I will say without checking the article more than one answer sounded like it could be correct to me... just sayin'. This question, this month, was a little harder for me to pull the trigger. I'm not sure…

We merged with another company division and I had to fight off the WUG crowd which we got over years ago again!
-
Can't use SaaS for most of my networks but it's always nice to have options!
-
We use custom developed in house application for this but considering that we have many other modules I've always considered NCM.
-
Wow that was quick start into another mission!

Training is pretty important this is what made me become a CISSP years ago. At the right employer they'll even pay for the test and dues. Great article on the simple things people take for granted. Bill

Hopefully the new upcoming mapping in NPM (that's in beta now) will make some of this not necessary.

The licensing can be tricky with so many different open source license models. We use software called blackduck I think it's called to scan through source and look for any open source so it can be identified and the licensing can be sorted out.

I'm having some issues with some primary pollers writing to vcloud virtualized SQL Servers... ours has never had a much memory as they show in that pdf... 128G they say... although I guess SQL server will eat any memory you give it.
-
That's pretty neat actually... I didn't know Motorola made one of those for their phones. I work at a company that used to be owned by Motorola. Back in the day Motorola did a LOT of cool things.

Everything is lean now... I guess out with the old six sigma and in with the new... we relabel stuff every couple years.
-
Yeah it's bad news...
-
I'm not sure what that means then? One isn't an answer and it sounds like counting the additional one is also wrong? I'm totally lost on this one??? Is unreachable a warning state?
-
Android would be the easiest!
-
I've never seen this SQL Sentry before... lots of tools to choose from for database now.
-
Lol this just made me think of one of my favorite websites: Cooking For Engineers :: Index Nothing like grilling skills written by engineers!
-
Does this require storage resource manager to work?
-
War Games FTW I think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better this week 4 sure!

wikipedia is pretty sweet 4sure! If I built my network why do you or the Government or anyone have a right to tell me how to run it? That's the big question. I don't trust politicians to figure much out. The beauty of America is if you don't like something you can find somewhere else usually to buy it if you're willing to…

I have 17 Solaris servers in my network still today. Thanks Serena... Bill.
-
The tandy!

The systems manager job in Austin sounds pretty good. One thing I was a little surprised about... I don't see many IT network and security positions anywhere? Our hardest jobs to fill are experienced network/security experts with CISSP and even better a security clearance.
-
And it gives long term stats even if the size of the pipes have changed.

RTFM works up to a point but SW software over the years has evolved and much of this is due to the communities input. Thwack gives us a place to help each other out and also helps to determine the direction the software eventually goes in. In over a decade of working on this stuff I've rarely had to open cases with support…

I think the testing is something that often is neglected.
