That reminds me of an old military multimeter my grandfather gave me as a kid. Mine looked more like the one on the right. It had front clamped down on the front of it and looked like it sealed it enough to survive deep depths in the sea if it fell in.

We all need better simulated user experience from different places on the network... now if I could ever find the time to add all this stuff I'll be doing good!

I don't see them as a commodity yet... We use primarily vCloud Suite and now NSX. Our storage fits in nicely as well. I'm not sure you can say the tools from other vendors and open source community are up to the level of the VMware solution... yet! As better tools evolve and we eventually get to a toolset that can really…

If you can get your company to pay for work related training that also has value outside the company it's a WIN / WIN. This is how I did my CISSP and am now going to work on CEHv9. I'd say Security is the number one skill to have right now.

Forced implants... ugh no way!

That participation trophy along with PC police determined to change our entire society in the US both really bother me! Whatever happened to common sense???

I'd have to agree with this... I just wonder if it's capable of polling that many. It may be just a limitation of the poller itself. Capturing all that L2 and L3 data from every single port on every single device is a big job. I've found the same thing with netflow collectors. If you start exporting netflow from basically…

I know one thing it can't be worse than Remedy...

2019 is going to be the year of new tools for us for sure! It's already beginning big time.

Q4 wasn't too bad! Even the URL gives you a huge hint!

Sometimes it seems like it but no it's just Arizona Valley of the Sun!

Containers if truly cross platform will be nice to help isolate functions from each other and increase security.

Whew... that's not the DSS I'm worried about!

Sci-Fi stuff seems to work best around here...

Until we get good dark fiber to some of the POP's we're kinda stuck.

You can do this more than one way too... snmp or with NCM. I just wish Cisco was more consistent. Maybe they're getting better... idk?

And CRTL-F!

On Fridays I got it but wasn't sure when I pulled the trigger! Today's was straight forward!
-
And with the move to RMF... continuous monitoring is the end goal... this should be good for SolarWinds!
-
Wow this interesting news... MS is going to stop snmp support at some point with server and rely completely on wmi...?? for some reason that seems crazy when I first think about. Mainly just from past history of seeing what kind of performance hit wmi used to hit servers with (no longer as big of deal apparently) and how…

I have no idea about today's answer... they only mention one thing in the video but I also see deadlock button in the video in addition to the root blocking and SQL statements... ugh!

I concur comparing a hash is much much easier than trying to send a file of any size anywhere! I suppose hash collisions is a concern for some so don't use sha-1 and md5 then. Use sha-256 to really be safe :^}

Question 19 needs to reset, removed or something. Also 20 doesn't work. I don't like to complain but what a way to end the month.

Kudos, you passed! B.r.a.d.’s jacket got caught in the revolving door and you made it to your car in time to avoid formulating an excuse for why you’re busy tonight. Move forward toward your weekend. B.r.a.d.'s back!

Wait what? Something doesn't look right. Wow that wasn't easy to find.

I could see this trap coming... this time. I overthink many of these.

@byrona We have primarily NetApp but also EMC. It would be great to have that bottom layer of the app stack because with as much virtualization as we have now... I've noticed it's often storage problems that can bring everything grinding to a halt. Any weakness in storage which houses all your VM's and wow o.O it's an…
