Security is the one thing that's not going away anytime soon. Like you said... patches.

A lot of people don't want to admit it but the research on autonomous cars is really a prelude to new forms of warfare... I know I know some people don't want to admit that but it's a fact.

Nice garden there sqlrockstar Thomas! I love gardening although it's much different for me now after moving from the midwest to the desert of Arizona. When in the midwest I was a member of the American Hemerocallis Society and bread many of my varietals. American Daylily Society Desert gardening is much different but it's…

Python is awesome language... it really jells well with networky stuff as well.

Yeah I'm not a DBA but the DPA product measuring wait time seems like a good way to find where the issues are pretty easily.
-
Geesh that sounds pretty shady Richard! I guess you're probably glad you're out of that business now maybe?

I just had to update the code on ASA's this week due to a new vulnerability! It's an ongoing process trying to defend... an attacker only has to get lucky once!

We used to do wireless with only company owned devices... now we have a new bring your own device to work program that runs all work related functions inside of a secure restricted VM that runs on the phone. I won't let them do it to my Pixel XL 2 though... no way!

The report showed exactly where my issues are: The top reason given for bringing applications and infrastructure back on-premises was security and compliance (28%), followed by poor performance (21%).

Doing your own thing isn't easy but with risk comes bigger rewards!

I've also had CIO, CISO, CSO's tell me instead of getting a graduate degree in CIS you should have gotten or go get your MBA. I've seen this pay VERY well for others so it's tempting although I do alright at my work... to be an officer of a company and get the real 1%'er dough I think you really almost need an MBA. Maybe…

You chose right with tdanner adatole!!! I think instead of perl I would have chosen python... but that's just me Leon. Ever since getting my CIS degree I always felt python was really pretty handy for network related things.
