  • Dang, I missed all the fun. Someone pointed out earlier today (rephrasing): that since Monthly Mission questions regularly use misspellings as trip answers, that we must never assume that a misspelling was accidental. I agree with that sentiment.
  • LOL asheppard970, I had a different earworm in mind... Almost Paradise (Love Theme from "Footloose") - YouTube I hadn't read the "two tickets to" portion, and since "Help Desk" has the same number of syllables as "Almost" -- well, you see the association I made. But, yeah, the song association you brought up makes more…
  • I concur, the same things was on my computer. I was using Edge, and thinking, wow, I see no answer here. Then I read your post, copied the link to Chrome, and presto, there was the answer.
  • Same here. Oh well. See you next week.
  • You have a pet SEAL???
  • knucklebusted, the information has been obtained on from the web from public sources and private hacking databases. Solarwinds is not making any previously private data available. They are letting us know about personal data that is no longer private. You can sign-up for the free account in the hint announcing SIM, and…
  • Internet50 | UCLA Samueli School Of Engineering I asked my Director of IT if we are going to do anything for the Internet's 50th anniversary next month... an all IT trip to TopGolf, or tickets to a basketball game or such. Nope. Maybe I'll bring in a cake.
  • Okay. I get it... The grouping is by cloud account, not by provider. The Provider is indicated by icon to left of the group, but also on the mouse-over. I got it right, though unwittingly -- could have gotten it wrong had different servers been chosen as answers, LOL.
  • Question 10 (7/13) is phrased wrong. The question is phrased: "Using the online demo, which TWO virtual hosts have Average CPU Load and Average Memory Usage plotted?" The problem with that question is that you can use the online demo, browse to each virtual host, and see Average CPU Load and Average Memory Usage for all 4…
  • Thwacksters, Thursday's question is asking about the least important metric for firewalls. I got it wrong because I answered on the most important, which would have been the VPNs (most important). I didn't hear anywhere in the video where they talk about what the least important metric is to firewalls.
  • I kind of feel like the year will be half-over 26-27 days from now.
  • TiffanyNels, what were the previous Bracket Battles?
  • All joking aside. I wish Solarwinds much luck on the migration. I love this community, and wish to see it prosper now, and in the future.
  • knucklebusted wrote: You still fail to realize that getting the right answer from reading the comments does nothing to improve the understanding of the product for which this is ostensibly a marketing vehicle. Nobody would buy this based on this demo question and answer. I still don't know why the answer is what it is…
  • This is not a hint, but discussion. I think this question has more than one technically correct answer. Netflix was given as a red herring (I hope I'm not giving too much away), but you can monitor ping connections to URLs, and you can set-up user experience monitoring, and you can monitor flows too and from URLs using…
  • Thank you danielsayer. I appreciate the input. I did see this in the hint link: To me that doesn't specify the those databases are on Azure. And you said, "specifically mention Azure" -- so I was wondering where the hint specifically mentions Azure. Then you opened my eyes, and I saw what my narrow tunnel vision did not…
  • Hi Patrick, I will certainly let you know about how it goes when the GR is released. Do you have a release date set? I do really like the pre-staging idea. One of our sites is in China. It used to take a very long time to complete the copy portion of an install to that location. So, pre-staging the files is potentially a…
  • I suspect a person with Tweetz power would have been able to predict this.
  • Joe, Do you think the non compliance of the old computer was because it was made by Altair? Or, because the company hasn't (yet) bought a Juniper SSG-5 (or similar small firewall) with AV license to protect the device and Isolate it from the rest of the network other than what is permitted? Compliance regulations don't…
  • So, I'm trying to set-up some amount of O365 on my our deployment. When assigning a template to the ICMP outlook.office365.com node, it asks for credentials. I'm an O365 dummy. Does anyone know, do I have to create an account on office365.com and then use that? Anyone successfully set-up the SAM templates for O365, please…
  • Shouldn't we have started a new mission this week?
  • I'm looking forward to the drawing for the Network Admin Safe Automatic m&m Dispenser
  • Or even better -- in 2019, all password requirements will be compatible with each other, so once you select your complex root password, it will work everywhere, instead of having to have 9 variations of the root and trying to remember which variation belongs where. By root, I mean that if your root password is Gwwlo0-21!$,…
  • On a tangent: It would be great to have printer filters which mimic color-blind color palates. That way we could save on ink when printing birthday cards for color blind people.
  • Tell me more. What do you think is causing the compliance reports to stick? It's not that devices are failing compliance, right? I'm concerned about the topic you raised, but not sure what I should look for to see if it is happening here too.
  • Is there a way to log in to Back up Management? Also, several people have said the correct answer is 3. So, if 3 is the correct answer to the question, could it be that the 3 comes from here? Three nodes with Solarwinds Backup Problems. (Rather than it be 3 nodes with hardware issues.) I'm just wondering if we are missing…
  • Wow ecklerwr1, way to break up a party. Didn't you know we hijaaked this forum to talk about Star Wars and that other show?
  • "Fish" -- awesome! Love it!
  • When I was a kid, my grandmother used to take me to the theater to watch a previously-released Disney animated movie during the matinee. I don't know any theaters that are still showing old Disney movies during matinees. Also back then, the newspaper had some 6-8 pages of movie advertisements.
  • I got Q11 correct by focusing on verifying each of the four answers were in the document (rather than focusing on the extrapolation of the suitability of the answer for the task in the question). Searching the 4 answers, you learn about 3 features of Loggly. One of the answers doesn't seem to be supported by the hint…
