sorry, been a while since i built this poller. Try comparing the following with what you have ... (raw value, enumeration, etc...)

Do you start getting traps in the viewer after restarting the 'Solarwinds Trap Service' ? If so, I'm in the same boat as you. Everything worked fine before I migrated to Windows Server 2008. I also opened ticket with support today. Dave

That helped me, thank-you. Dave

Yes, and can we get a patch/fix for this soon ? I was able to do some user tracking by building ASP page and relationships between the NCM tables. But then I took the plunge and upgraded NPM and NCM to try 'Solarwinds' user tracking. Huge disappointment there, plus it broke my ASP page (no data in MACForwarding table). The…

Nope, haven't figured it out. Regex mentioned above (as you found out) doesn't work for me either. Dave
-
no problem. With the above asp page, i can search by any of those fields and come up with results. How about you try ? (last try)... SELECT MACForwarding.NodeID, MACForwarding.LastDiscovery, MACForwarding.FirstDiscovery, MACForwarding.Missing, MACForwarding.Port, MACForwarding.MAC, MACForwarding.Source,…

I'm not having any luck with this. Can someone confirm that it actually works ? I'm trying to hide the 'wireless' module from certain users. I have "Wireless Client View" and "Wireless Session View" set to 'none'...but it still shows up.

Hi Ever since we went from Telnet to SSH on NCM, some of our Cisco switches (especially those running v12.44 SE1 ) eventually run of memory and crash due to SSH sessions not disconnecting properly (memory chart looks like a memory leak, but crash file says ssh service is to blame). Cisco says it's due to ssh clients not…

yup...they work fine on 9.0 SP2
-
what if you double click on node (left button double click)...same blank white screen ?
-
Thanks Jan 'Start>Programs>SolarWinds>SolarWinds License Manager', and upgraded IPAM v2 License with the help of the activation key found in the customer portal...appears to have fixed the problem. Dave
-
make sure you have gauge selected in 'web display'...
-
it's just one of the many gauges that are available within NPM (when you click 'Edit' button)...

beardedgeeknc, maybe problem is your stack cabling/configuration ?... yours... Mine...

we're monitoring our 'modemsInUse' on a Cisco5350 using OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.47.1.1.6 with the exact same UDP settings as you have and it works great. Curious ...if you right click on your Universal Device Poller and select 'assign', then select the router and click on 'Test', do you get correct value returned ?

Just applied Service Pack 3 and indeed cleared up the trouble. Thanks for quick reply !

thanks for the reply. Crazy that a bug still exists since July '08. Maybe it fell thru the cracks ?...hopefully admins will catch this and escalate.

THanks Christine, So safe to say that there is no proper integration for NCM 6.0 with NPM 9.5 ? Was hoping to see the new pie charts from NCM 6.0 in NPM 9.5. I'm surprised that user tracking relies so heavily on NPM since it's NCM that performs the inventory. Dave
-
I'm seeing same problem. I'm on NPM 12.4
-
Thanks for the reply Marie, Any reason why we can't get that feature back ? Seems a shame to lose features when upgrading NPM. Especially when i paid for that feature when i purchased the Wireless Module less than half a year ago. Dave

I've been working on Brocades last few days. Found this OID to be quite valuable... 1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.1.1.1.1.22.1.4 Provides the following table... But now i need advice on how to create Advanced Alerts for this values. Alerts that will trigger when ... temperature > 50C Power Supplies not equal to 1 Fan Speed < 1200 RPM…

does oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.2 give u anything worthwhile ?

Thanks for the reply Derek. I'm actually trying to use the SCP server as a standalone server and the F5 device auto backs up to it on daily basis. (no NCM scheduling). F5 devices fails to connect to it. And the windows SCP client i'm testing with is called WinSCP. I think if i can get the WinSCP client to work, i'm thinkin…

resync'ing the nodes usually corrects this. Goto...."Settings>NCM settings>Add or Manage Nodes>Node Sync" (located upper right corner above the search field). Dave

I totally agree that this should be fixed/addressed via SP or Hotfix. This was a working feature (that customers now rely on) and was broken by Solarwinds upgrade. I had identified this problem long ago (back in mid-june ... ) Still waiting for a fix. Dave

Did you double check your Windows account credentials found in " File>Settings>Real-Time Change Detection>Config Change Settings" ? ...need admin rights to run the script. Dave
-
NPM's 'Message Center' does great job of combining & searching alerts/traps/syslogs/events. (not sure if you've explored that option or not).. http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NetPerfMon/OrionMessages.aspx Dave

Did you enable 'bgp log-neighbor-changes' on the router ?... http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_0/np1/command/reference/1rbgp.html#wp1018068 eg.. BGP router 100 bgp log-neighbor-changes Dave
