Hi wla1evc, Can you elaborate on your use case a little more? What STM data would you like in SCOM? What's the main flow that is difficult to troubleshoot now with the separation between the tools?

No, EMC DataDomain systems are not supported in Storage Manager.

Hi herwig, No product is "required" for the AppStack. The feature is pluggable - so if the products you have provide status and dependency information for an entity layer in the stack, it will be represented there. SAM and NPM do have light virtualization support that will show up in the AppStack. VMAN will show…

Hi Mustafa, I replied to your post on the Avamar request.

Hi ccaizik, You should be using the identifier listed in bold ("000000C0202014F4:000000C0202014F4") for data collection from your v3700. If you configure it as such as are still having problems with data collection, I recommend that you raise a Support Ticket so that we can help you troubleshoot further.

Hi familyofcrowes, Of course, the tool I mentioned in those other posts is a way to solve your problem, but definitely not ideal, which is why I didn't close out the idea. We're are definitely looking at ways to improve this in the future.

Hi Pradeep, More correctly, your request is to see support for these devices in the SRM Orion Module. FWIW - There is no STM "stand-alone" version. Both STM and SRM include both a Orion Module and Profiler Module. When you "buy SRM" you get both pieces, so if you buy SRM today, you have support for the above listed arrays,…

Hi tonym1216, Why do you have/maintain separate instances of Virtualization Manager?
-
Hi crossfitter14, Thanks for your feedback. I have a couple of points regarding your comments: 1) If you had this data, what would it allow you to do? How would it make you more effective or efficient at managing your storage environment? 2) Data at this granularity simply is not available via SMI-S. You can only get…

Hi Leny, Yes, both of those devices were supported in SRM Orion in SRM v6.0.

Hi All, STM now officially support the HUS 100 family. We are still looking for customers who have HUS VM systems that we can validate against. If you have one, please reach out to me and I can work with you directly to get this validated so we can declare official support. Happy Holidays!

Hi rlovett, We are currently working on Nimble support for SRM Orion so stay tuned! Storage Manager - What We Are Working On

Hi akrick, SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor (SRM) Beta 3 is now available with support for NetApp Clustered Data OnTAP. You must be a current Storage Manager or Storage Profiler customer on active maintenance to be eligible to participate in the Beta.

Hi folks, So we've begun investigating the VNXe and VNX2e. Unfortunately, in our investigation, we've learned that EMC has not supported getting performance information from these devices. So the question is: Is having VNXe data without performance information valuable?
-
Hi Derik, Thanks for the update. QNAP is on our radar for support. If you run across customers who are requesting this, can you have them vote on this directly so we can reach out for Beta and prototype research when we get to that support?

This is already covered by http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1704 I'm going to close this one out as a duplicate.

Have you folks tried Global Search Technical Preview - Notes & Info Thoughts? Feedback?

Hi gcolville, I believe this is covered by https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1061. I'm going to close this out as a duplicate.

Hi Jason, Since SRM will be a native Orion module, it will collect data and store it in the same MS SQL Server database as NPM if NPM is also installed. Same logic goes for SAM, WPM, etc.
-
Hi David, Can you be more specific about what you want to alert on? I'm assuming by Storage Pool, you mean mDisk Group? Were you able to add a threshold rule with the category Storage Pool Asset?
-
Hi BerkayErdem, Sorry for being unclear, but the HUS 130 should be supported now (with STM 5.6.2) as part of our support for the HUS 1xx family (used 100 explicitly before which was likely confusing). The HUS VM are slightly different, so still looking to verify collection there against real world systems. Note that for…

Hi Leny, As I mentioned before, Clustered Data OnTAP (CDOT) filers have been supported in SRM Orion since version 6.0. It is not supported in SRM Profiler. If you cannot successfully add the filers to the Orion Module, I recommend you open a case with support.

Hi Scott, Have you signed up for the SRM 6.1 Beta yet? MSA is in that release: Storage Resource Monitor 6.1 Beta
-
Hi jdunne, This is something we are very interested in adding to Storage Manager in the future; however, I don't have any timeframes I can give you at the moment.

Have you checked out Global Search Technical Preview - Notes & Info ?

Hi Augustin, Can you explain what you mean by the "storage landscape created in STM"? Can you elaborate on your use case for needing this functionality? Would your needs be satisfied by producing something like what Network Topology Mapper produces, or are you looking for something different? If so, why?

* The current SRM v1 plan is focused on SAN and NAS devices and their relationships to the virtual and physical server environment (we've been known to refer to this as "logical mapping"). Deep network (both IP and FC) integration is not currently a focus for v1 (we've been known to refer to this as "physical mapping").…
