Hi dkeyser, Do you have 5.3.3 HotFix 2 installed? We fixed a very similar issue in that HotFix.
-
Not at this time.

My guess is that you a more familiar with Orion's Sonar discovery and were looking for something equivalent in Storage Manager. The Network Discovery pattern was only for adding storage arrays to Storage Manager, and would not have assisted you in adding your servers. Network discovery is no longer in the product as of…

Hi kolev, You're running into a known issue that was fixed in VMAN 6.0.1 HF1. 6.0.1 HF2 is currently available and is a cumulative release that includes HF1, so I would recommend getting HF2 from your Customer Portal and applying it to your VMAN 6.0.1 appliance. If that still does not resolve the problem, let me know.…

Hi nantwiched, I would recommend that you try using Alert Central (Free Product) to accommodate this use case.
-
Hi simonp73, There is not currently a way to do this through the GUI. You'll need to file a ticket with Support and they can help remove the proper entries from the database. Sorry for the inconvenience.
-
Hi rayward, If you are doing a POC right now, our Sales Engineering Team should be able to assist you with any pre-sales support issues like this you may be encountering. I would just sent an email to your account rep or sales@solarwinds.com to get assistance on this and they'll be happy to help.

Hi Travisj, Many customers access Mobile Admin remotely (outside of their coporate network, on the go), so this is not really any different. You have two options: * VPN on your phone to connect to your internal network. * Setup the MA server with a public IP address/resolvable hostname in a DMZ and access MA via HTTPS.

Hi ttl, Are there specific topics that are interest to you? I'm always looking for feedback from customers on what could be better illustrated, either through videos, blog posts, or documented in the Admin Guide.

Hi tmeyers, The IBM Flashsystem 820/840 arrays are not supported in Storage Manager currently. If you'd like to request support for this device family you can vote on the idea here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3158 Do you know if the Flashsystem devices are supported by IBM SMI-S Provider? I didn't see it listed…

Hi storgo, Unfortunately, the answer to both of your questions is "no." Regarding the first question, the product automatically selects "one hour average" or "raw" based upon time range to avoid slowing down the chart page load times because it would have to pull too many data points. I can understand why you might want…

Hi Deltona, You can change which IP Address the Agent uses to communicate by modifying the Core.XML manually (<Agent Installed path>\Storage Manager Agent\Core.xml) with the IP you would like the agent to use. Thanks, Dan

Hi sankeyj, If you are in an Eval scenario, there are no keys to manage (at least that you control anyway). You can integrate the two pieces of software via the following steps: * Login to Web console of SRM Orion * Navigate to "Settings" in upper right corner * Click "SRM Settings" in "Product Specific Settings" * Under…

Hi Kurt, Can you go to My Reports -> New Report -> Enterprise -> Status -> Device Collection Status and post the output of that report? We should be able to tell from that report what information Storage Manager is not collecting. Thanks!
-
Hi Gildas, No, this is not possible. You will need to open communication ports between the servers in order for communication to happen. You may check out Server and Application Monitor's new server agent to see if that would satisfy your use case: SAM 6.2 Beta - Because sometimes you feel like a nut - Part 1
-
Hi Stef, Steven is correct. For future reference, this KB shows compatibility between all Orion modules including VMan and IVIM: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Compatibility of SolarWinds Orion Products for Installation and Upgrade.

Hi redhawk15, There's several questions buried in here, so let me help as best I can: * Your data collection issues could be happening for multiple reasons. This could range from the simple - the server you are trying to talk to is dead or there is a network firewall between STM and the target device - to more complex -…
-
Hi nfx, Backup monitoring is not possible with STM. We used to have a product called Backup Profiler that supported TSM, but that is now end of life. Some customers are using Server and Application Monitor to monitor TSM, so you might explore that route.
-
Hi Simon, The HP MSA is not currently supported with Storage Manager. It is on the roadmap, but there are no confirmed timeframes for delivery at the moment. You can make your interest STM supporting this array known by voting on this Idea Forum request.
-
Hi Jason, We do not currently collect VMware tags in Vman. The last I checked this data was not available via the API, which is why we have not done it yet. We are currently investigating if there is any way to get this data, as it is pretty commonly requested, but I don't have any timeframes for you. VMan does have it's…

Hi Joshua, Yes, you've stumbled on an unfortunate gap in the architecture of Orion Reports. There is no way to properly error check for reports where multiple Orion modules are required. This report requires both VMAN and SRM to be installed to work properly and this is expected (although not ideal) behavior.

Hi caglarisa, Can I inquire a bit deeper on this to help answer? What problem are you trying to solve? What exactly do you want to know and why?
-
Hi nikkodumapit, SNMP on the HP 3PAR is extremely limited in the information it provides. Storage Manager (not NPM) uses SMI-S to monitor the 3PAR. If you need information about your 3PAR not provided by SNMP, you will need to take a look at Storage Manager.

Hi Shane, Data Domain is still very interesting to us, but it has not made it onto the roadmap yet. You can vote for Data Domain support at our thwack idea and suggestion site.
-
Hi bbeut, In order to make the charts responsive, they are limited to 250 data points at a time. As you've found, the data will be loaded as folks zoom in to a tighter time range. There is no current workaround in VMAN proper (barring the integration with Orion). What is the use case for users to get that granular of…
-
Hi Tim, What arrays do you have? It largely depends on the vendor and model type to determine what is possible.
-
Hi bstew, Just to be clear, you're saying that you are receiving no metrics (performance or capacity), from your DS8k's? Across all layers (LUN, Pool, Array)? If so, that absolutely is not expected behavior.
-
Hi smcginnis, Are you monitoring both VNX's directly with Storage Manager? Is the DR VNX populating other reports with correct data and it's only Trespass LUN's report that you believe to be incorrect?
-
Hi Steve, Unfortunately, VMAN does not collect VMware alerts. STM does, however. VMAN also does not do anything around server hardware health. Why are you not able to integrate VMAN with your Orion install? If you don't want to discuss on Thwack, I'd love to discuss on a call.
-
Hi Jeff, Right now that is not possible. What you are requesting is a known feature request and will be considered for a future release. Thanks!
