Hey Grant, So it looks like Transactions don't support the "Mute" function. Off the top of my head, I would try the good old fashion Custom Property that was used years back and add that to your alert trigger condition. I've used an example called "Transaction_Maintenance" with a Yes/No value - I've set one of my…

Hi Tony, What version of software are you currently running and on what Windows platform? Have you upgraded your .NET as I believe 12.2 requires .NET 4.6.2 whilst 12.1 only required .NET 4.5. Sadly the offline installer does NOT include that package it tries to download it, which might explain the prompt for connectivity.…

Hello kange0010 NPM doesn't monitor HSRP out of the box I'm afraid you would need to use a Univeral Poller to grab the OID and then it can monitor the State change for you. Alternatively, you could use syslog and alert on state changes. Monitor HSRP State Change with Alerting - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support…

Hey Mark, I would say it's high on the list of priorities for them, they talk about it a lot in the new release demo's and if you check out the SolarWinds Labs they demo a lot of real live examples. Check out: What We Are Working On to see what SolarWinds are working on in general for the different modules, but also maybe…

Hi, So the NAM License is a bundle product, so as part of your 1000 Node License cost, it entitles you to download and activate NPM, NCM, NTA, IPAM, UDT, VNQM & HA. It also allows a limited number of free APE's (I think it's 20 but don't quote me). At the point of SolarWinds installation if you only require NPM, NCM and…

The problem is that not all companies will have that detail at the host level, and if it comes from the host for one device it needs to come from the host for ALL devices. With a custom property all the devices regardless of polling method can contain relevant data and it can be mined, extracted and populated a hell of a…

To be honest I don't encourage any of my customers to rely on the location details programmed into the equipment regardless if it comes from SNMP or not, because in most cases it is prone to user error, and wild variety between equipment on spelling etc. It is far easier to simply create a custom property which you then…

You don't need separate alerts, you can set up multiple Trigger Actions, and set the schedule in the trigger action. That way the trigger conditions are the same, but it could email different groups depending on the schedule.
-
Hello mfortner The answer is dependant on how you have your alert setup. Do you have an alert set up on the VG itself as a Node Up/Down which sends an email to the Voice Team if the device is down? Do you have a SolarWinds dependancy mapping in place between the Switch and the VG? If you do then technically the VG won't be…

It is pretty common for trial software to limit capability after the evaluation period. I can only suggest you either wipe your system and start again with a new 30day evaluation or maybe look to purchase a small license tier for further proof of concept testing.

Hi Stuart, If you are monitoring your WLC then it will automatically discover the status of the Thin Wireless Access Points connected to that controller. You can set an alert that notifies you when they go offline, but I would approach with caution and search here on Thwack for other stories of AP monitoring.

Do you have IPAM Installed? If so check to make sure there is only one version installed on your system. Configuration wizard stuck at importing sample maps when IPAM is installed

You need to download and install the Desktop Notification Tool in order for sounds to be enabled. There are some good instructions from yaquaholic in this Thwack post: Specific Audio Alerting

Hi mnostrom what you need to do is create a Custom Table and use the Dynamic Query Builder to set out your working hours. Then you can build the report as normal. Here is a KB Link. Here is my example: Sorry, excuse my data values this is from my test lab. but hopefully, it shows you enough to replicate it. I have used…

If this is a new installation it should have prompted you to change the password on the first attempt. If you're stuck then I suggest checking out this LINK.

Hi tigerr You can bulk update custom properties via an Export/Import process. Once all the nodes are added you Export the Custom Properties to CSV, update all the fields in bulk using copy/paste and then upload the CSV to SolarWinds updating all those Nodes in one go. Like you've mentioned you can have alerts checking your…

Hi exclusive you can only download the latest version of the Online Installation, but if you select the drop down box from the Offline Installer option you will see the older versions available for download: Hope that helps Good luck with your upgrade

Hi, Have you tried disabling the Hardware sensors for one of the devices to see if that helps to resolve the issue?
-
Hi Tony, If I am reading your reply correctly your existing environment is running NPM 12.0 which according to the Product Upgrade Advisor would require you to jump to 12.0.1 before you could jump to 12.2. could it be that the offline installer is trying to get the download file to take you that step? I would suggest you…

What versions of the software are you running?

Hi anglia-admin I suspect that as the system requirements are 3Ghz Dual Core then you will continue to get the warning. The impact isreally is going to be specific to your environment, what other modules you are using and number of nodes etc. the CPU requirements haven’t changed from 7.6 to 7.7 so if your running 7.6 with…

Hi rschroeder - Universal Device Poller uses "Groups" to categorise/organise the pollers. All the Defined Pollers you have in your UnDP are actually what it calls Groups. When you create or edit a Poller you can select what "Group" it will belong to and that is the folder. It will provide a dropdown list, but you can…

There should be a base report called "Community Strings for Each Node" which provides that exact information. It should be under Inventory.

There should be an out of the box alert called "High CPU Utilization with Top 10 Processes" which you can enable, and it does just this. If you Duplicate the alert you can customise it to suit your needs. By default it looks for CPU Load > 80% WHERE Node IsServer = Yes. The alert then triggers the…

I would suggest the best thing is to run your job once and see how long it takes your polling engine to complete by looking at the Job Logs afterwards. Then once you know how long your jobs take to run you can schedule them accordingly. Whilst NCM can run multiple jobs, like anything it has a lot of other tasks to run and…

I suspect you can add the Nodes using SNMP/WMI and then using Manage Nodes you could bulk edit those nodes and add the vCenter or HyperV details.
