Is this still an issue?

Have you checked the Orion Business Layer Log file to see if there is a matching error message with more detail?

Hi Sims, Welcome to Thwack So in a Production environment, you will require a separate server for your Orion SQL Database. If you are also installing NTA then it has a requirement for an individual database, however, this database can be hosted on the same SQL Server and within the same instance as your existing Orion SQL…

The only thing I could think is you could use the MSG Command, but it would be messy and I have no idea how you would tie it into an alert action. It doesn't seem like the best use case for proper alerting as it would need to contain more information.

Hi jackgorman21 , Don't worry this is a really easy fix, it's just a case of the example screenshot now showing you the entire screen. You currently have the 'I want to Alert on' dropdown as Node, and you need to change it to Volume: Once you select Volumes 'The actual trigger conditions' will update to reflect the new…

Good work to the team behind the creation of these exams any thoughts of having a Slack channel for Design SCP’s or just SCP in general?

This was a system change made in 12.2 and sadly you can’t stop the bar from auto-hiding.

Hi Todd, So NetFlow comes in two parts (similar to Orion itself) in that there is the Web UI end (or Module) and then the Data. Previously in older versions, Netflow data was stored in the Orion SQL Database, but as of Version 4.0 it was removed and put into a separate FlowStore. So when you design for Netflow you would…

Hi nks7892 I have a customer who is currently facing a similar upgrade experience. The biggest problem you have is that 10.7 isn't compatible with Server 2016 so you can't migrate directly, you are going to have to perform stepped upgrades first and then migrate. The upgrade advisor is a bit of a nightmare when you're…

cs99772 I have to apologise as I totally forgot about this, did you still want to try and look at this?

You would need to use a combination of SAM Templates to monitor the Folder Size of the server hosting the network share, along with then monitoring the status of the network share directly. Here are some examples: Windows File Share Availability - This will monitor that the windows share exists and is reachable. Windows…

This was a known issue in NPM 12.1 - Unable to receive server reboot alert emails The issue was fixed in 12.2 so I would recommend upgrading.

I know it sounds stupid, but have you checked to make sure that all the servers (including Orion & SQL) are running on the same timezone.

Goto Settings > Manage Nodes - Select all the Nodes you want to update. Click on "Edit Nodes" This will load up the Edit Nodes window as a bulk edit screen, you can then edit the fields you want. There is one caveat. The nodes you bulk edit all have to be using the same polling method. So if they are all currently ICMP you…

I'm not sure it will be that straightforward as the Alerts table doesn't store your alerts by NodeID, and not All alerts are directly related to a Node, so you would have to perform some sort of filter that excludes alerts that are not Node alerts, and then various joins to get the other data you need. I'm sure it's…

Hi alankar.srivastava here is the best explanation: SolarWinds Orion Platform product licensing - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Very handy for checking when items come back into stock on the Thwack store! one customer was using the conditional blocks for password conditions that needed random characters from your password.

Hi bentwilly77 did any of the suggestions here help resolve your issue?

Could you not just export your compliance report to CSV / XLS and then use that to create something more management friendly? Personally, I would be tempted to show management the compliance report within the UI or at least snapshot onto a PDF or PPT, I think the fact it shows a traffic light signal for errors/warnings is…

SolarWinds hardware recommendations are really hard to be 100% accurate they are only guidelines as YMMV. You need to factor in things such as what other modules you have in your environment. Is it just NPM and NTA or do you have other modules? What is your license tier (ie max capacity) vs your current monitoring…

Hi superfly99 it probably has something to do with the time/date data being different between Report Writer and Web Reports.

I had a similar problem back in 12.3 release, which was caused by Subscriptions. Check this link and see if any of these steps help: Custom properties not working or showing on the nodes details - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

From the KB - Success Center * The difference between monitoring an interface in NPM and UDT is, in NPM we gather a lot more statistics – bandwidth usage, errors, discards etc.

Hi MathieuJM like James says try not to over think it, the documentation doesn't make it as clear as it should. Basically, if you want to keep the current IP to use as the VIP, then I would suggest you assign 2 x New IP's to use for the Primary and Standby Server. I would recommend they are HIGHER than z.x.y.132…
