Hi pinch04 firstly make sure you are using the full code originally posted at the top of this post, some of the other replies contain scripts that are not working (people looking for assistance). I have tested both my own and mesverrum original script and they produce results. Secondly, if you're seeing the "Advanced…

Probably best to look at the following lines: -- If you want to filter the results to only show outages of a minimum duration uncomment the below line --and MINUTEDIFF(isnull(t2.[Down Event],(GETUTCDATE()-30)), isnull(t2.[Up Event],GETUTCDATE())) > 60

All signed up and ready to go - what items do we need to bring with us? Will we need laptops etc or will everything we need be provided?

The best approach would be a Scheduled Report. There is an out-of-box report called Down Nodes which you can then schedule to run at the specific time of day you require and set that to email you the report. You can, of course, create a custom report with additional information as well.
-
e.jenidy - You have added a Custom Table instead of a Custom Query widget to your dashboard. The Custom Table is designed more for SQL (It can work with SWQL but meh)

Awesome - when I asked cobrien about this at London SWUG he thought it was a fake widget I’m glad to see it’s not and that I can replicate it

Hi seluton I don't have one pre-built, but I quickly made one and I think this will work. There might be a better way to do this, and I will check! However for now I have simply done a report on all Cisco Nodes where the Connection Profile is empty and that has worked for me. Hope that helps. Will come back to you if I…

Hi, So sadly the Orion software isn't really designed to be run in a Multi-Tenant scenario, and whilst it is possible, it comes with extra overhead. As for what you're trying to achieve you need to make sure that the User Account you have set up has Account Limitations applied to it so that the account can only see Nodes…

Thank you everyone, it’s a privilege to be a part of this community!

I wonder if there is a way to lock a user account directly into a NOC Mode view? That removes all the menu options. David

Hi xavierm One of the common issues with group dependency and alerting is that your poller doesn't poll your network in a nice sequence. It doesn't start with the router, then the switch then the AP it polls devices in its own special order dependant on varying factors including your poll cycle settings. One thing to…

Hi dhinagar_j dhinagar_j wrote: Orion management server and APE High availability will be covered by SolarWinds HA features, So will I face any issues or down time while creating a new HA POOL ??? A: No - You will deploy the HA Software onto the second machine, and once it is operational you will then create an HA Pool. As…

If you look at this post by mesverrum he has a good Dashboard Widget that shows Muted & Unmanaged Node using SWQL Query Report on Muted and Unmanaged Entities There are other variations on this as well including a Entities version that can potentially include Interfaces, Volumes, Applications etc.

You could use SolarWinds Event Log Forwarder for Windows and push all events out to your KiWi Syslog. FREE Event Log Forwarder for Windows | SolarWinds Set up Log Forwarder for the first time - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

You could Print to PDF or you could copy and paste to Word/PPT ? There is actually a stand-alone application called CompareIt which does a similar function but you would need to download both config files, so it sort of becomes redundant. What are you trying to achieve by having it exported?
-
I just thought actually it doesn't need that information because it communicates directly with the SQL Database, and the DB will already know about the HA environment so it shouldn't need any additional work to the APE once the HA is deployed unless of course, you want to deploy APE HA as well!
-
Hi Tayyab, I have not performed it myself but I would imagine you just re-run the configuration wizard from your APE and use the new VIP and that will in turn update all the communication. Cheers David
-
This is totally possible and supported. I have seen many customer environments that use virtual servers for the Primary server and the APE.

The most efficient thing to do would be to deploy an Additional Polling Engine into the Cloud and monitor your cloud instances from there. There isn't really a documented way to separate NPM and SAM as they both write to the same Orion Database. Of the top of my head you could probably look to either: a) Replicate your DB…

I would agree that a Group containing all 3 nodes/interfaces would be a good start, just ensure that you set the status rollup mode to 'Show best status' - This will ensure that the group is only down if all 3 nodes are down. Which will enable you to also use that Group as a Parent group in dependancy alerting. All…

Hi kange0010 sadly this is a big misconception of Groups. They can't be used for filtering in that way, and as such the 'All Nodes' widget doesn't allow filtering by Groups. There is a separate widget named 'All Groups'. which will give you a similar view, but there are two alternative options: 1) You can edit the 'All…

Hi kange0010 Most of this information was moved into the Orion Reports section under the Category of 'Inventory' you can check there, otherwise, there should also be a variety of Widgets available on your Node Detail Page. If you search the widgets screen for Inventory it will give you a long list, you can even add a wdget…

I would suggest disabling the component monitor for 3 of the 4 servers. If one of the nodes is down then simply enable it on one of the other 3 nodes.
-
As long as the versions match, then you should just be able to run the configuration wizard and enter the correct database credentials. It will then install as an Additional Polling Engine.

Hi, Can you give a little more information on the device you're trying to do this on, as I've just double checked on a Cisco router and it was very simple to remove the username without any prompt? I don't recall ever seeing that prompt before. Cheers David
-
I would suggest looking in the following two places: Firstly check the following table in your Database - HA_Pools - You should see that there is a Pool setup with a corresponding PoolID. Then check the table called: Licensing_LicenseAssignments - This table shows the products you have installed, and the OrionServerID that…

I would think the best bet is to set up two Groups one for ServerA and one for ServerB and add all the components you are monitoring into each group, then set up a dependency between the groups. I've never tested this, but in theory, should work! Let me know how you get on.

Unless you have an urgent need for the features released in 12.5 I would personally wait as they won't be in RC for long.
