Well you got my vote

I think the main confusion is always because SolarWinds will push everyone towards SQL2016 or later. So they state that for customers running the Orion DB (NetPerfMon) in SQL 2016 SP1+ already they don't NEED to provision a brand new server they can add the NTA Database to the same instance, but there is also no…

So the dashboard your using as an example is the "All Nodes" with custom property filters. NOT Groups! As you correctly stated the All Groups widget can NOT be filtered. So start with a Blank Summary Page and add in All Nodes Then Edit each Widget one by one: In the Group By section - Level 1 should be the custom property…
-
Thanks, Craig - We are already doing that. All the nodes are Grouped by location and then automatically added to the map using a script in the background.
-
It works fine in my lab, the Custom Property did already exist though. Maybe that's the missing step for you? I was just adding value's to an existing CustomProperty.
-
Thanks neomatrix1217 in terms of the last question do you know if that is 1000 Agent Nodes per Polling Engine or per instance?
-
All the modules need to match your existing environment otherwise when you run the configuration wizard it might not let you connect to the Database. It is normally recommended to upgrade as far as possible on your existing platform (2008 Max is NPM12.1) and then migrate to the new OS and continue to upgrade to 12.2.…

Maybe it could be used in conjunction with the suggestion by RichardLetts then you can run the deletion manually.
-
You could move to Kiwi SysLog Server for Traps and Syslogs and do you really need the ReportWriter anymore?

Hi arunprasaad Don't forget that Application Monitors status rollup is 'Worst' by default which means if even 1 of your components is Down, then the Application Monitor shows Down. Which means you can refine your alert to just notify you of Down Applications, rather than Warning or Critical ones, and that would reduce the…

If it were me: 1) Try to delete the Node Management Widget from your View and re-add it. 2) Check the Account Management and be 100% sure the account has the right to Manage/UnManage Nodes as well as Mute/UnMute Alerts.

Kudos sir - Very well done

Oh yes I see, sorry I did try both click in the Username & Password fields as well as pressing tab. It's just that in the Password field the Login icon doesn't become active until after you physically type in your password as WPM pastes it in then it becomes difficult, I might try getting WPM to input my password character…

It's worth checking your Alerts within Orion to make sure the alert event was actually triggered, then you know if your looking at an issue with your Trigger Action (Email) or the Alert Trigger Conditions itself. Cheers David

Hi Guys, Thanks for the responses. I will check that blog out. Dave, I rebuilt the spare server last night using Windows 2003 64bit so I could utilise the full 8GB RAM (And potentially more if I can get some money). Sadly I can't change the HDD I just don't have the budget at the moment. As for the RAID, I didn't have…

I currently hold NPM, SAM, NTA & Design. Missing NCM (On my TODO) and now this one....

There you go jdumke the syntax above should work for you just change your query to incorporate this Thx mesverrum

Hi Mistik, The status in your HA Deployment screen is specific to the High Availability compatibility checks. The fact your Polling Engine shows Active and Green in the Polling Engine page just means the APE is working and running as a Poller. It could be that the High Availability service is stopped or not working…

Hi Matt, SolarWinds list price is £15,205.00 ex VAT (SKU: 1248)

Check the Account settings then for the following section:
-
I believe it is possible to delete it, however, the configuration wizard would rebuild it each time it is run. I would probably suggest simply disabling it so that in the event of an AWS Failure you can jump on and enable it to allow access onto the system.
-
Depending on your SAM Knowledge I would say - don't go into it blind lol. There is the odd Orion core question, but a majority of the questions are very module specific for SAM - So if you had never had hands-on check the exam prep guide produced by SolarWinds.
-
Sorry, I’m not sure I understand what you actually trying to do.
-
Thanks cha-chang! just one important thing to remember - Make sure you create the Custom Property on the VOLUME, not the Node, as they work differently
-
So simply have a second CP as the second email variable. If it's blank then no harm, if it's for a server with a populated second address then both teams get emailed!
-
If you click on 'Show All' and then Export it, does that fix the issue?
-
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question?

Always feel free to tag me if I’m busy I just won’t respond straight away

Hi dc4networks Bit of an old thread here but I suspect what your looking for is: DateTime > dateadd(mm,-1,getdate()) Hope that helps.

mesverrum wrote: FYI the new Log Manager module version 1.1 doesn't support AG clustering, which ended up costing me an entire day of screwing around with my DBA before we got confirmation from Solarwinds and had to remove that DB from our AG. Last update I heard on the ticket there was a proposed fix but I haven't tried…
