Looks like a rock steady plan, personally, I wouldn't bother with Step 5, I would just use the latest installer to install NPM12.4 / NTA4.5 and let the config wizard upgrade the database. Of course, that does introduce a smaller risk but as you have the DB backed up prior to migration it's not a massive issue, but I've…

You can still download and print the certificate from Digital Badge, and then just buy a frame if you wish

What Node is your WPM Player Location set against if you look in that transaction? I don't have any of my WPM Alerts enabled so I can't confirm it. I will enable some and play with it for you to see if I can replicate the settings. Is there anything special in your limitation?
-
Hi reti I suspect the problem is that your Orion Player location is a node that is part of that view limitation. So it is putting the event log from that alert into the NetPerfMon Events for your server. Still having a problem once Solarwinds is installed. As I am importing an existing DB when I run the Configuration Wizard I put the existing DB credentails, but it won't accept them, so I use Windows Authentication. However when I then goto next step I enter the credentails and it goes through, but the Wizard fails saying…

No, I don't think IPAM supports DHCP Failover sadly. Here is an open feature request that you could support with an Upvote.
-
Yeah, it's a big product and if they are only with you for a week, you don't want to overload them but give them a basic understanding of what SolarWinds is doing and why it's important to your business.
-
Hi Rohit, So again I need to clarify that moving your SQL Database onto the same server as the SolarWinds application isn't advised and SolarWinds don't recommend it. However... In order to achieve what you require you would need to do the following: For reference, we will use Existing Application Server = SRV1 / Existing…

Are you having an issue cdt_mueller as the original post is from 2016?
-
Hi Matt, The answer is subjective dependant on your environment. If a large majority of your equipment is sat inside the DMZ then it might make sense to have the main engine there. Don’t forget though that if you need to monitor anything outside of the DMZ you then need to create rules for that, and you could go down the…

Sorry which ones didn’t work? Can you confirm in the Alert Trigger section this is a Volume alert? When you ran the email simulate test did you select a volume to test with?
-
Hi Deltona The UnManaged part is fairly easy as that is contained in the NodesData table, however, the Muted is a little bit more tricky as that is a totally different set of statistics that are spread across different tables. I might have a stab at it when I get more time, but for now try this new and improved version:…

I would suggest changing that to ICMP if possible, that will then give you the ability to have an Up/Down status even if there are problems with the SNMP Connectivity or SNMP Agent.
-
If your concern is regarding NPM you could try sending a message to cobrien
-
Also as per your PM - the Auto acknowledgement of the alert, this could be done by setting the Reset condition to 'Reset when this condition is no longer true' which will be the case once it has updated all the CP's. Or, setting the Reset condition to 'Reset Automatically after' this will clear the alert after a set amount…

Hi Matthew, Can you share your findings so that others might benefit in the future?

Do the different teams use different groups within Service Now or did you want email alerts to 3 different groups depending on the device? If you want different email addresses (ie Windows Servers to serversupport@company.com, SAN Storage to storagesupport@company.com, Routers/Switches to networksupport@company.com) then…

I have it working in my test environment so I'll head over and see what the issue is

Hi pratikmehta003 here is a good link to show the customer the different functionality available to them based on the monitoring mode. Agent vs SNMP vs WMI So if you see from that link with SNMP Only you will NOT get: Hyper-V Information Network Interface Monitoring Ability to Reboot Linux Load Avg Specific Volume…

Why don't you open up the interface in question and check that the Status shows as Down in the Interface Details page? If the interface is down, then there is no reason the standard "Interface Down" alert shouldn't pick it up. Did you try the alert without the Node filter and see if the Trigger list shows your interface in…
-
A good way to validate an alert is to remove some of it's uniqueness. If you change the Scope to 'All Objects' and goto the Summary tab, in the bottom right corner you should see a small screen that tells you how many devices will trigger this alert if you submit. If you click on the LIST and see if your interface is in…

I can check tomorrow as I’m on a customer site who has 12.1 and 12.3

The only other 2 things I can think of are 1) Remove the licence and let the service expire that will shut it down. 2) Remove the module all together, but that is pretty drastic. David

Check the Orion.Web Log and see if there are any errors otherwise I’m afraid it might need a Diagnostics to Support.
-
Yeah to be honest Thin AP polling isn’t great with SolarWinds, but you can’t have everything I suppose
-
Same for me. *EDIT - Scrap that it is now showing.
-
Yeah, the online one does include the words 'includes latest released hotfix' but I agree they should make it a little clearer. However, I just did a clean install with the 12.3 offline installers in the last hour and it 100% does include all HF's.

I'm not 100% sure which log file they are referring to but I would check: Core.BusinessLayer.log & BusinessLayerHost.log

Are you able to edit any node or is this just for particular nodes? Are you able to get to the Manage Nodes screen? Has the been any changes to Custom Properties recently?

No problem, If you want any more help with a more detailed upgrade plan just give me a shout Cheers David
