I had the same issue and finally got a dev to work with me. It seems they added a new undocumented feature that tracks the down time of interfaces and volumes. If you have any Cisco 5K's in your environment, they are very problematic to poll via SNMP. Lot's of things to poll, and with a lot of 2K's attached you can easily…

We are seeing missing MIB's with the latest MIB.CFG file. We had requested the McAfee MIB's be added, they were, now they are gone again.

Second this.

By "Improved inventory management", does that include the ability to store more than one inventory's worth of data? For example, I want to search for a MAC address. If that machine wasn't connected at the time of the inventory (or, more specifically, still in the MAC table of the device), it won't show up. I run…

cobrien Thank you for your reply. Let's look at these new feature requests. got a mere 17 votes got 26 Full support for Meraki wireless access points got 36 These are not features users have been clamoring for. The items that get the most votes are usability requests such as silencing alerts. Kudos for the alert silencing.…

We are 24/7 as many of us so that doesn't help most people. Hospitals are always open.

Nope.

And a network protocol

You will probably be able to get some of what you want by monitoring each server in the cluster with both APM and NPM. Basically, you will want to do the following: * Add each server, individually, as a node in NPM. * Add the cluster IP as a node. * Add SQL Server application monitors on each cluster server. on the cluster…

Add me to the list. This is making my users not trust SolarWinds. Even switch from one poller to another can trigger this.

Thank's Wendy. It is back up today and I am on the phone working the second of the 5 tickets resulting from things not working after the upgrade yesterday. Uggh.
-
I could not even leave a voicemail. Cisco call manager said there was no attendant and would hang up on me. Pretty terrible customer support when you do your upgrades on the weekend and have 4 products with issues that I still can't get resolved.

Same here.

The custom property will not be on the virtualization node. When you have VIM, it creates a separate nodes table just for the virtualization nodes, and that table is linked to the nodes table. That is the issue. They need to see the virtualization details that the custom property knows nothing about. You have to build 2…
-
This has to do with the fact also that virtual nodes are separate from regular nodes if you have VIM

Agreed. Many issues. Do NOT upgrade to 11.5. You will be sorry.

NPM Topology is not finished. It gives partial and incorrect information. I had an open ticket, and I got this information directly from Mav Turner the product manager. He said they would rather push something out rather than wait until it was finished. Bad decision to me. How do we know what is supposed to work and what…

Yes, We want to do port counts for inventory of how many host device ports we have. If all ports are added, it throws this count off. Why would you want to add all the 8 to 12 virtual ports that every Windows server has?

I never got an answer about agents on guests. So now I need to uninstall the agents on over 2,000 guests, that don't all have the same credentials in order to use the new vman? There is no way to do this in bulk, because of all the There is no way to do this in bulk, because of all the credentials needed for WMI. Not happy…

So we can't monitor disk space usage on our vcenter servers now since we can only use icmp to monitor them?
-
Even on all the guest? I can see that on Vcenter but guests too?

OK, I bit the bullet. As far as 1. All migrated except anything that is alerting on APM 2. I get a connection error. Still testing.

Thanks newkidd2, Really great features. Has anyone installed in production yet? Any issues? I currently am running SAM 6.1.1, QoE 1.0, NCM 7.3.2, NPM 11.0.1, NTA 4.1.0, WPM 2.1.0, Toolset 11.0.1, UDT 3.2.0 and wondering if there would be any compatibility issues.
-
There is usually an install guide, a blog post or a forum post or something about it though. I have gotten preliminary release note before. Nothing this time for such a major release. I would like to know more before I install.

Sorry Rob, but this is the issue I was having and reported and you were supposed to look at. It IS a known issue to many of us and has not been resolved for a month now..

Hello all, My ticket with SolarWinds has been closed on this issue. After speaking with 2 product managers, I was told that topology was not fully developed, and did not discover layer 3 links. They said they would rather release an unfinished product rather than one that was fully complete. Very disappointed in that…

Has anyone ever used SolarWinds Lan Surveyor? It discovers fast, accurately, no duplicates and connects the correct links. Why can't they do that in NPM?
-
I amazes me that Topology, one of the most basic and worthwhile features of a NMS has never worked. Especially since it works in Lan Surveyor. Why don’t they take the topology code out of that and put it in NPM? Heck, it doesn’t even discover duplicate nodes like NPM does. Much cheaper products do topology maps and…

And also what devices are supported. I was told by tech support that on "Industry Standard" MIBs are supported. I don't know how much more "Industry Standard" Cisco 4500 and 6500's could be?!?!?
