Step 1: stop/restart all services, check deployment health, check that the DB is still connected, check the primary polling engine's logs. Step 2: Open a ticket and get them to look at things if not resolved from above.

shuth did this ever go anywhere? Looking at doing a similar thing today.

Simulate looks exactly correct because said alert didn't go off, actually. At least this is doing what you appear to have written it to do. Sometimes simulate isn't always the best target. However, I'd definitely suggest looking through alert variable stuff (change to global and all instead of commonly used) so that you…

I'm about 90% sure you won't be able to get this info without SNMP With that said, if this is a business environment I cannot imagine a single reason why the ISP wouldn't be able to give you a limited access SNMP account - typically this is something they do when they're working with business customer accounts for network…

If I recall for IIS, you can have it auto-configured or you can do it yourself. If you do the latter, you should just be able to apply the template to the server and it should poll from the poller applied to said server, I think? Tagging aLTeReGo in case I am horribly, horribly wrong though though.
-
I'd like to remind people yet again that this NCM connector is updated regularly, be sure to go to your customer portal and download a newer version if you haven't updated in forever.
-
I'm wondering if you can do this through message sharing within alert config, actually.
-
2 possible things I can think of right away, marnell 1: can you post your config block for sh run | section flow ? Obviously you can hide the IP's if needed. 2: can you validate which interface you've set as the flow-export source? Whatever that source is, that's the IP that needs to be monitored in Orion. If that's for…

jbiggley adatole aLTeReGo have you guys worked with UCS monitoring outside of Universal device pollers?
-
I'd open a ticket with support but you can have issues with inconsistent versions of .net from this, which can break additional pollers and the website on the primary. Be sure to only download the APE installer from the main poller and not from the customer portal for this.
-
There are services other than the main poller services that can be running and cause things to not return to service properly. I'd make sure everything on the services list is actually stopped manually as some things aren't stopped with "Stop all services".
-
Basically, you need to limit who can customize views, and either a: have custom views that people can't modify for a group, or b: have custom views for each individual. Otherwise you're stuck in "everyone moved things around/hid things/etc" mode.

I can try to bring in some of the newer folks on my team if you want. sipher2k hit up meech

Have you checked if tools are out of date or what reason the host shows as critical?
-
Even without automatic dependency mapping not having search here is pretty painful to say the least. I can't even consider turning this on before that point.

I do recall an issue like this having occurred on previous updates, with NPM 10.6 where you couldn't export certain pages because certain widgets on the page would (in my non-technical explanation) cause the export function to go haywire which resulted in a similar failure. I don't know if it is related, though. Maybe…

In three separate instances in my career I jumped into someone else's Solarwinds environment. In one (the first) it was an improvement, in two it has been a rip and replace (fresh db and copying in the data we want). In my first job I was handed the solarwinds environment by my colleague and I was 100% fresh into…

jpetkevich anything you want to add on NCM?
-
I don't think I've heard of this being an issue by itself, but you can add criteria for what you do/don't want to monitor via AD, if that works. If you are concerned about WMI scans in specific you could optionally add them to NPM and scan them via SNMP for the 2003 servers unless you require something specific for WMI…

Agent/SNMP is mostly a question of whether you want to POLL a machine for data or PUSH the data from the machine. So really do you have a requirement for ports open in a particular direction? Copying stevenwhunt as he is the master of the linux based agent environment.

Are you running the NPM website as a web garden? Recycle app pool? That can cause that if your web session is resetting for any number of various reasons.
-
rajasekar What exactly do you mean and/or what are you looking to do? Different modules have different things they can do with cisco wireless gear in various forms.
-
Which auth method are you trying? What messages are you receiving? What are you trying to pass to the API?
-
as jamesatloop1 says is almost exactly the same as I was going to reply in the email, tulsi . One set of Cisco hardware/another set of Cisco hardware, so why can't we get the same data and featureset at a minimum? Looking at https://meraki.cisco.com/technologies/cmx-api and how it's JSON I can't see why Solarwinds would…

I think this can be answered using SAM via file availability templates, so I'm going to copy mrs.alterego and ask if she can move this to the SAM forum.

What you're looking for is : ${StepsWithStatusFormatted} and/or ${StepsWithProblemsFormatted} This hasn't been migrated as a part of SWIS to the new web alerts yet (maybe jiri.tomek knows of a SWIS version of the values you need)
