I don't really feel like it changes anything without a deeper understanding of what about SDN is supposed to be so special. Without such an understanding I feel like all it provides is a centralized integration of a bunch of parts of storage that already function independently. Storing things in the cloud is old. Storing…

So how will this work with modules that are upgraded part-way through a year? So we have 2019.4 right now, but if another product hits GA before the end of the year will it be 2019.5? 2019.x? Just trying to wrap my head around the idea of being Orion core 2019.4 if a module is on 2019.5, for example. Or are all modules…

You can SNMPwalk/MIB browser just from having NPM, if I recall correctly. It's a customer download.
-
100 percent lol.
-
step 1: stop/restart services step 2: run config wizard Those would be my immediate suggestions to see if this persists afterwards.
-
Looking forward to this; hoping to fly down!
-
Basically, you just upgrade as if it's not there? If I recall correctly. Checking with adatole and Dez to double check things. Good long term question for both of the mentioned geeks: if you install APE on the same server (and thus stack), do you need to continually update APE? I couldn't even find good documentation on…

ISP SIP gateways that do not respond to any ports are an example that I think I referenced.

it's a trap to not give away week 1! (kidding)

Man, I tagged everyone UX and I forgot I meant to tag jkuvlesk in the first place major whoops. lol.
-
I'm still experiencing whiplash between SDN and SDS, because it's another set of acronyms to add as "things we need to know about"
-
Yeah, that's where I sit with this too. The world of being a DBA is not one I'm familiar with across the board, ergo....time to read/follow a bunch of links!
-
I concur. Really, that would be ideal in all scenarios.
-
I felt rusty the other day, but going through these questions is reminding me of how much I *do* remember from SAM. Hmm.
-
Plenty of people get sold on projects but don't necessarily know what they're doing. It's not unsurprising in this industry.

This is a FR rschroeder. The problem is, you're having to set custom interface bandwidths that may not be true. Here's an example: You have a gigabit interface, your actual bandwidth is 20mb, but you can burst up to (infinity, who knows). A custom bandwidth doesn't work for that. You want your alerts at 20mb but you want…

This is exactly how I felt. sparda963 is pretty much nailing what I felt was the case here. Then you add the fact that entertainment news rules our country (above any other type of coverage) and how much the press has been basically salivating at releasing every single unsubstantiated rumor or gossip about pokemon go and…

There's lots of ways you can help, even if you don't control the build. You could always ask for things/make suggestions! Also, answer carefully as noted

It's sad, but this is exactly why I said this was a workaround and why this bothers me. I really hope cobrien brings this one front and center at some point. Making people create a powershell script to do HTTPS because of a simple lack of proper HTTPS support in 2016 is not good at all.
-
Done. I sense some heavy hitting coming out of this one
-
So, nothing else? Ouch. Should I start adding some FR's or something? It sounds like this is getting about as much attention as AlertCentral, and maybe it should sit at about the same price point if so.
-
Always agreed. I wish they'd hurry up on their multi browser support though
-
I'm super disappointed that our news sources across the nation are more interested in getting views for things like pokemon than covering actual important news. The fact that 3/4 of it has been "OMG PEOPLE FEAR POKEMON!" has been just as sad.
-
That's very useful to know actually, and makes sense. I stand corrected! Thank you.
-
Ha, I still have a boatload of coasters somewhere.
-
I like this, but.... I notice that it just goes from "These tools helped me" to "these tools found more information" with no "well, we also bought these" (DPA for example).
-
bumping, it's been a long time and I could still see this having use.
-
It's a good idea to catch up on Ghost in the Shell, I can help ya out there
-
Yep, you'll start getting emails if you ever upvoted when it's getting worked on, let alone when it's released.

very poorly probably still qualifies as a spreadsheet :P
