serena I'd think my (apparent 2013 FR) here can probably be marked implemented at this point, right? Now I feel I've been working on this stuff too long
-
This was my mistake, I should have been more careful about what I type. I meant to say that it was covering applications and DB's other than DPA a little, so things like mysql workbench. It's still helpful and I had no clue about them beforehand, but they aren't DPA?
-
Yes, August 2012. Not 8/12/2013. This is 2014. . There has been active discussion easily within the first 5 months of this request, and we're at a year and 5 months with no implementation.
-
Time for me to get back on the list (since I missed 2024 nominations)! Grats to the existing and new!
-
i had a separate FR because some of us (like myself) would like to see hubble data for one component on a page as opposed to everything.
-
and no option for "I literally provide an equivalent of these deployment services"

You guys may be a little older but not by much. I'll never forget 56k dialup, opening up the application CRT, and logging on to tsunami.thebigwave.net to play some MUDs when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure that playing on an lp pkmud required me to learn to type faster
-
I'll never forget sometime between 1990 and 2000, having to troubleshoot how exactly my dad's pc got a virus. It was also my main gaming machine for all the telnet muds I played back then, so I was quite strongly obligated to search and resolve the virus issues. Many searches later over lycos and yahoo, I found the…

One of the things I'm most looking forward to with perfstack is a much, much easier way to handle "look at X statistic across Y nodes" than static reports. This alone will be extremely invaluable. That said, I can't wait to upgrade.
-
2019; this would help to promote NPM/NTA strengths with what Meraki has been doing. Hope it's being explored.
-
I concur, good reporting proves to be an artform of it's own. Data visualization has real use. I've been trying to read a book about that on the side - Lean Analytics, but it doesn't really solve the "how to make the good stuff look better". My wife is actively studying to find ways to do that better as well.

I'm OK with cloud. It's a transition that will happen and we will not be asked if we want it. However, people who mismanage their onprem will still mismanage cloud-based DC's - just with more risk (as they have so chosen). So...you'd hope at some point that part of the posture will improve but it's all up to the individual…

do it all! architect, build, engineer, consult

Whee! I hope those bobbles have a secret NFC tag in the bottom Time to find the MVP group! Definitely feeling very honored.

Radioteacher now that I know what to expect, next year's 360cam will be very different (and successful for livestreaming). That I'll make sure of. I'll probably take 10x the photos. It was a heck of a time and photography geeking out is also awesome!

I think this is more like "monitoring as a concept" (which solarwinds helpfully has videos of). The catch is that even if you try to teach that to people, it doesn't mean they'll understand what it means or are willing to spend the time to understand. It's funny because the whole idea of good monitoring is to save…

email sent jason.carrier, you may want to look at if you feel like opening this up.
-
michal.hrncirik is this still the case today? Is there support for ININ?
-
jason.carrier do you know who would look at this one? You/someone else? The idea we're all trying to get it is handling (all) UPS's the same way as APC's. Pretty simple ask and would let me retire a bunch of UNDP's in the process.

Check the book I linked above, it's basically everything he ate there

Question about possible features when this rolls out - would this agent then be able to integrate with things like SRM, and will the SAM part of the agent for basic storage monitoring at least be able to see LUNs and zones?
-
100% yes. This is important information
-
I think this calls for a higher discussion from a few folks. i can't even state how high the value is of this and basically want to tag every thwacker I know - jbiggley bluefunelemental etc. Yet i kinda wish i could ask tulsi and her team if this was ever documented anywhere? i know how to change these settings normally…
-
This would also be nice if it could potentially enable this to be tied to AD.
-
My thoughts exactly I would love an Oculus via thwack, though!
-
cobrien did HP Colubris controllers make it in for the heatmaps after the SNMPwalk I sent you? I guess not, huh.
-
I have desire to have syslogs handled somewhere else because it significant impacts the solarwinds DB and is a pain to properly manage, but I haven't looked into Kiwi. Maybe someday.

The thing about the John Deere thing is that every time a company goes against right to repair/relies on DRM for reasons of profit, they lobby hard but refuse to say anything publicly. Techdirt had a great read on the John Deere Tractor Owners Using Pirated Firmware To Dodge John Deere's Ham-Fisted Attempt To Monopolize…

I think it's fair to say that a lot of things need improvement and their teams may be a bit too stretched, but at least this one they *are* working on. lol.

This is unfortunately the vibe I get as well. It's like "here's an amazing thing.......if you have the right knowledge and tools to use it". In my current env we don't have the right suite to leverage perfstack, so I'm sitting there staring at the end goal knowing we're not going to reach it right now.
