Hello, everybody I'm so glad to see your flow hello, everybody everything you've done I know Hello, to facebook You've been quite busy there Hello, to google spending all day checking mail Sung in the tune of https://youtu.be/Dz422GImiyU?t=67 - kid's music class obviously pervasive in my brain

I sure hope so, byrona . Atlas should be one of the core parts of solarwinds but it could use a significant update.
-
Keep on rockin, man. Thank you!
-
Only so long as you have software that will do so *properly* Containerization is not immune to vulnerabilities though.

2019 licensing stuff that brad.hale might want to know I FR'd even as far back as 2017. lol.

I do think things for a majority of sysadmins tend to lean more devops lately and/or more programming friendly, and I think it's a good thing overall. Probably just a trend towards more API's and then more layers to interact with the API's among other things. The siloing, however, drives me crazy and I can never stand when…

There has been some discussion about how far ransomware has gone in shutting down governmental organizations and I'm still impressed to this day how often this remains a continual success story (for ransomware).
-
jhandberg I set up an alert criteria for exactly this, and it looks like it's working. Interface alert -> Interface -> Received errors this hour + custom property to filter the correct nodes seems to be the start, and I'm digging further to find where the % of errors exists (there is such a thing but I need to re-find…

I'm not sure that it has to be a map, it's just that appstack has hard limitations on the types of things included where maps are more flexible. jblankjblank just an event list of "connection removed from (x/y) and when those happened with a timestamp would be probably enough at first, even if it's not all visual. Just…

In recognition of turbaconducken, I present to sqlrockstar : the cherpumple. http://www.charlesphoenix.com/thanksgiving-cherpumple-turducken-desserts/

OK! Step 1 done. Jfrazier mrs.alterego meech (thwack forum UX matters! ) tulsi wabbott fyi. I know we focus on the tools but the forum can always use some love too! Step 2: all dat typing

2019. I don't mind that SWIS via powershell takes care of some of this, but for similar nodes (maybe by machine type) this would still be nice.
-
Yes, I focus on the virual server group. I have a document in writeup, I'm having KMSigma take a look before we publish
-
cobrien any way to make something more like what lazyrabbitt has done into a reality as far as official support? I think this has a lot of potential.
-
I want this to be an option not a requirement. Being able to choose both is better than vertical or horizontal only.
-
Boo, I actually liked the way they did that one.

Truthfully, it's hard to find people who will talk about salary or career moves openly. I've got maybe...3 people I can be open with in that manner and maybe 6 that I'd share half of the info (sans career path) with. I find a ton of people these days are deathfully afraid of mentioning their salaries or compensation at any…

It's go time. I let @"KMSigma.SWI" know about an issue I had this AM as well, it looks like some growing pains. I also have to poke at @"danielleh" about the need for a dark theme by default :P

I remember this and I get the idea, and naming wise external nodes should be called unmonitored nodes. External to the monitoring system is implied, but that wording is strange. People should be able to go from external -> monitored as it were, but it'd be more logical to say we're going from "unmonitored -> monitored".
-
wluther noted. KMSigma what will it take to do this? Make it rain!
-
Ahh, ok. Do you have a list of which things have background discovery just for clarification? I did notice that at the time.
-
I know some of this is like "learn about postgres" but a lot of what solarwinds does involves SQL and it's good to learn about postgres. I plan to try to set up a postgres instance and see if I can get solarwinds to put the DB into it via emulating SQL, so it has uses!
-
I'd say holy guacamole, but that is a bit of effort to save someone a couple clicks I probably will use it at home, though!
-
serena we are vmware/citrix, so this would be nice. The folks on our call the other day would certainly be happy to know if this was an option
-
Eh, I'm not willing to bump it that far/all the time, but I suppose that's personal preference. My boss said this is mandatory to address in the long run - gov't requirements are 7 years of retention and "we've saved a copy of the DB from a year ago" won't even vaguely pass the regulator sniff test. However, I've got a lot…

I still cannot advocate considering anything that involves IOT without both of the following as a bare minimum: vlan tagging with vlan isolation firewall whitelist Anyone who does less unfortunately is opening the door to a large amount of risk than they may realize.
