Hi silverbacksays Essentially I'd like a report that can list out VM's & Physical devices in our entire inventory & then split that out if needed...

I didn't speak with support as the issue resolved itself. I think it was having issues as some of the data wasn't present for a period. In terms of how often it updates, I understand it's on a rolling 7 day basis (possibly 30 days?) and bases the forecast on what it observes in that period, but possibly someone from…

In addition to my above post, this is what I get when I click on "View the message"

Hi Jiri, Interestingly, revisiting this transaction today (further tweaks etc) I don't seem to be able to reproduce the same issues? It's still failing (but image match appears to be to blame here). If I recreate the 'same' monitor using the same steps, I don't encounter issues, pop ups or other oddities.. I'll keep an eye…

In the hope that anyone looking for a similar solution to Linux SNMP - have a look at the file I uploaded here - http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-170831

Hi smiffy85 You beat me to it, I was just posting that it is here - "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\AlertManager.exe" thanks to aLTeReGo & this thread https://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/276197#276197 However, seeing as all existing alerts were migrated (& not copied across) to the webconsole I'm debating the…

Hi HolyGuacamole, thanks for this, I've looked to put this in place & seems spot on! Just need to figure out what I need to get APM to alert from this now... I've asked our Network guys to raise a support issue with Extreme & if/when I get some feedback from that, I'll try & remember to post that here Thanks again, Daniel

DanielleH Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? Haha, trust me to jump the gun, international (UK & Germany at least) on the way!!
-
No probs Josh, worse things happen... Glad your team liked the 'loot' & don't worry, I've not forgotten about the drinks (although you might regret promising that!) haha
-
evanr - if you're finding that the above fixes are only working temporarily, I'd suggest getting a support ticket open ? Not that I'm an expert, but sounds like something is corrupted somewhere... ?

Had a similar scenario this morning - restarting IIS via cmd prompt resolved this for me. iisreset & once complete, all working again.

Once you've become a customer, what SolarWinds web properties do you visit, how often, and for what? * Do you continue to visit the solarwinds.com website? How often? What kind(s) of content do you normally go looking for on solarwinds.com? More often than not, I'll end up here via a link to a KB article or if I've done a…

Hi dstoney, Thanks for replying, just to clarify (& I prob didn't explain the situ precisely initially) bandwidth, latency wasn't the issue. The issue boiled down to the fact that the separate network had a, how can I put this, complex IP schema & there were routing issues surrounding this aspect... That said, I've had…
-
Hi Matthew, Thanks for responding, I don't think I clearly explained the issue... I'm aware of the method you mention, the trouble is that the monitored volumes are almost like 'ghosts' of the actual volume. So, on a particular server, let's say I'm monitoring the C:\ drive & it's labelled 123abc after a period of time, I…

Had the same issue myself this morning, restarted all the Orion services, no effect, but once I restarted IIS on the Solarwinds server ( iisreset ) all working as expected.
-
Ok, after a (brief) period of monitoring this, I'm pleased to report that the steps suggested: 1. Stop the WPM service 2. Delete all associated Temp folders 3. Remove the SEUM-User accounts 4. Restart the WPM service Appear to have had a positive effect on the situation.. I'm wonder if we should have 'bolted on' these…
-
Hi Jiri, Thanks for the quick response. In answer to your queries... Yes, we use domain accounts for the WPM player, I've grabbed another screenshot below. As you can see, between the time taken to post my initial query, there are already multiple folders being created... Regards profile related errors, checking the…

Hi & thanks for the repsonse, am running v11.0 & I've run through all of the Alerts to see what the 'From' address is set as.. I was really hoping to see where, within the DB, these are all stored to track down the (what I consider) erroneous ones... I'll check in action definitions in the meantime & see what I can discover

HolyGuacamole Hi & thanks for the super quick response, great stuff! I've added this to an alert where I know I'll see some over the next day or so, so hopefully this will be what I'm after! Watch this space
-
Hi Rob, thanks for the response I'll have to check that out/ I was just going to see if I could add individual days & times as a 'feature request' but guess someone has beaten me to it! i.e Mon - <times here> Tues - <times here> etc

Still awaiting some feedback from support around this, so had a quick look on the location in question to see whether this has somehow resolved itself & thought I'd share my findings.. Logged in > opened the Recorder to replay a transaction & interestingly, works fine (on the web ui shows as a failure). Anyway.. when…

Thanks for the response jiri.tomek do you know if uninstall / reinstall requires the server to be rebooted? I can't remember from when we performed the initial install ... ETA - I suspect not, but I'd like to know for operational reasons.
-
Hi & thanks for the replies.. I've logged into the server where the player is located using both my own account & the account that SEUM uses & yes, there is a proxy in place. I thought that even if this was the case, then configuring the same proxy within the transaction would negate this though? Again, I can't quite grasp…

Thanks HolyGuacamole that information will certainly be useful moving this forward, it's not the doc's that I've seen before but will def help!
-
Hi joe.tran Thanks for the response, guess I'd not been all that clear in my original post. I've checked that the date/time formats on my local machine ( as well as the server ) are set as I require them - As I've got the region as English (United Kingdom) this (as you no doubt know) defaults this to the 'correct' format…

Well, if anyone refers to this in future, it appears that the Linux builds we are using have integrated Firewalls (which are enabled) it seems that this (along with some SNMP.conf settings) was the main part of the issue. Once these were amended, communication could take place. We also did the following: Updated Net SNMP…

Or this (much simpler) method (vs what I described)

Hi janene16 I think you might have hit a winner here... yes, I'm running 11.5.2 & reviewing the other thread, this does seem to be the case. I'll take the relevant steps & report back (stay tuned). ETA - Completed the truncate of the table, restarted all required services & this has resolved this for me! Thanks
-
I'd agree, very strange indeed. In answer to your query, no, there is nothing (obvious) that I can see as to why I might not be able to click on certain items. One example, I have a group of servers all associated to one customer (dynamic query keys off a text string in the server name) & only one device in this list…

Can anyone expand on whether a solution (or other "fix") for this was reached? Similarly to Mr Angliss I have various SQL clusters subject to failover & ideally I'd like to have Solarwinds polling the cluster IP. On this note, can anyone link me any articles/guides on getting this implemented within a virtual environment?…
