This probably belongs more in the NPM forum, but we don't eat n00bs here. What do you get back if you run snmp.get on the VCSA? Does the community name there match what you gave Orion? I've gotten boned by VMware SNMP before because the string didn't properly handle non-alphanumeric characters in the community name. What…

We're using ADFS 3.0 and it's associated proxy, and WHD works properly with it. Do you have anything else using your ADFS proxy?
-
By default, it only shows 25 services per page. I assume you've looked at the other pages to make sure that they're aren't there? Does this issue only effect one server or multiple?
-
So you're not trying to monitor a specific site or the like, just make use of the fact that your security people only allow outbound ICMP from the pollers. What OS is your poller? Reason I ask is that I don't think Orion is going to be the way to go for what you want, but a constrained PowerShell endpoint to allow them to…

There are a couple of ways: 1) you could go off the MSI product codes for the versions of Office (problematic if you have Click-To-Run installs) 2) You can query the (Default) value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\OUTLOOK.EXE to get the install path of Outlook and then do a…

Been running it since the RC1 release; the issues we had are fixed in the GA. Rather liked the new upgrade from web console.

What OS are you running on?

So it turns out the script was fine. The reason it was failing out was due to a wsman remoting issue. Derp. Amazing how much better remote scripts run when that's working. One follow-up question though; where's the list of exit code to status mappings? What I want it to do is be if status = a, show as up, if status = b…

Hmm. I tried that script; set for Remote execution. Get Script Output returned 'Not Defined' for the Output Result. I can run the script via a remote session with the same credential. I'm assuming the script monitor doesn't require a looser execution policy than RemoteSigned?

Uploaded snmpwalks, and voted in poll. I'm interested in participating in the UX sessions; would have to look a bit more at what we're doing with our ASAs in Orion. Will poke our network guy for more info.

I have a case open with Solarwinds on this; looks like they need to fix IVM (the NPM builtin VMware integration). Case number is 1088199 if you want to reference it when you submit your own..

Is this on the vCenter Server node or on the ESXi nodes?
-
What VCSA versions? We have VCSA 6.5.0b, NPM 12.1.0 and SAM 6.2.4 and it's reporting correct CPU and memory load.

I've just uploaded the SSRS template I use to Thwack. Grab it here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-172666

Looks like the current mibs database is from earlier this month: https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/info/MIB-Database Would be curious if that sorts it (guessing not though)
-
Is the WHD database on that 2008 box or on a separate box?
-
There is a template on the Thwack Content Exchange for this device (it's what we use): Cisco WLC 5508-7.5.102.0-1.3.6.1.4.1.1069.ConfigMgmt-Commands You can import it from the WebUI: http://OrionAddress/Orion/NCM/Admin/DeviceTemplate/DeviceTemplatesManagement.aspx
-
We are. What device template are you using?
-
Yes you can. ssh into the appliance using the admin account. sudo vi /etc/ntp.conf You'll see a list of servers. Update and save the file then you can restart ntpd from the web admin interface (https://url:5480)

Take a look at the Product Upgrade Advisor (https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/support/product-upgrade-advisor ) as that should help point you in the right direction. In general though, you don't need to uninstall the older version first; you can just install the newer and it will upgrade.

Long story short? Painfully. Here are a couple links that will assist: The database was backed up on a server running version 10.50.1600. That version is incompatible with this server SQL SER… How to migrate a SQL Server database to a lower version

It didn't ask for a thwack username, so not sure how points will get awarded but will see.
-
I think that's a limitation of the snmp stack; if you have NPM poll the server using WMI the machine type reads correctly.
-
Totally possible with SAM. What you want is a tcp port monitor,
-
Are you trying to monitor the instances with AppInsight or with a template? If a template which one? Also, what versions of NPM and SAM are you running?
-
The recommendation is: Stop all Solarwinds services on the NPM, NCM and poller servers. Move the databases Run config manager on main NPM to update database parameters Make sure all services on main NPM are started Run config manager on NCM to update database parameters Make sure all services on NCM are started Run config…

How about per-user views/menus/etc? If you set people up via groups, they share the same views.

It's not listed here: Web Help Desk system requirements so either the documentation is out of date, or it's not officially supported. However, Web Help Desk uses EWS which is still supported in Exchange 2016, and there are customers using Web Help Desk with Office 365, so you *should* be fine.
