Things I want to see die in 2019: * Flash (damn VMware web client) * Java (ASDM, iDrac, ilo) * Worthless vendor support (bonus points for those who don't read the ticket notes) * User entitlement "yeah, a site is down but I'm important so drop everything for me"

So here's where this is a bit more interesting. If you do: $a = 6 $b = "6" and then check the types on each variable, $a is an Int32 and $b is a string. If you then do $a+$b you will get a result of 12 (resulting object is an Int32), and if you do $b+$a you get 66 (resulting object is a string). So it's not the order that…

wabbott - could someone clean up the answers a bit? I'm pretty sure this: your boss’ is an error, and "ticket cue" should probably be "ticket queue"

They'd be better off adding support for RADIUS. It will still allow the use of TACACS, but will also be supported by other similar systems.

The answer to clue one has 9 letters.

One of my favorites, though it goes back a ways. Shop in question was at the time a mixed Novell 4/NT4 shop, with NT workstations, running both IPX and IP. Opening UNC paths to the Windows servers took a lot longer than hitting ones on the Novell servers. The other IT staff thought this was normal, "Windows doesn't make a…

Oh frak it. I mis-read it as "which of these is *not* a source of..." Makes sense now, and reminds me to avoid the questions till I'm actually fully awake.

I need to snag & post a picture of the t-shirt I've got for the NPM 10.1 release.
-
For AnyConnect 3.x you need 3.1.10010; recently released and supported with Windows 10.

Wondering if there is a mistake or typo on today's question. It seems to directly contradict the hint.

Perhaps something based on the ASP.NET SAM template? Although with the planned IIS AppInsight, perhaps that's just a subset of features that AppInsight turns on if it detects ASP.NET in the IIS instance.

I suggest a new strategy..Let the Wookie win.
-
Would definitely be interested.
-
I no longer see the RC in the Portal, but don't see the release either.
-
I think this would be an excellent feature as it would remove a lot of false positives that would tend to bury the more important issues.

Padlocks only for the first week huh?
-
Yeah, I'm calling shenanigans as well.

There is an SDK, including some PowerShell cmdlets available. It's a bit... fugly right now but it's being worked on. GitHub - solarwinds/OrionSDK: SDK for the SolarWinds Orion platform, including tools, documentation, and samples in Powe…

Works for me; I could use a cocktail kit.

Yep. You can see the outstanding alerts in the webui under Alerts & Activity
-
That's coming from the alert Reset action; basically, it's letting you know that the application is no longer critical and is back to normal.
-
Yep, that's what I was talking about. :)
-
Looks like it should be ${N=SwisEntity;M=CustomPollerStatus.Status} Create custom poller alert in Orion (solarwinds.com)
-
What you're probably running into is the "Pages/Sec" component of an application monitor template is hitting the critical threshold, and that's making the application go critical. The application being in status critical is what's firing the alert. There's a default alert named "Alert me when an application goes into a…

I still have this working on our 2023.1 RC box. When you configured the unmanage schedule job/script, did you use Windows Auth or Orion auth? I'd suggest popping a command prompt as the admin service account and paste in the command line from the scheduled task; the resulting message(s) might be useful.
-
Hmm; I've got the June updates applied to all my Windows servers, and WMI polling is working normally on all of them. We don't have the "temp disable this" reg key in place either. We are running only Server 2019; which version(s) do you have in place? What version is your Orion platform?

My freshly opened case is 00860124. Mentioned in it that case 00854987 seems to be same thing.
-
Curious if they found a fix for it? Pulling diags and logs to make a case on this myself.

I am, and running into same issue. Problem you're seeing with the two?
