Scheduled unmanage may help you: https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/Configure_Orion_to_unmanage_items_on_a_scheduled_basis

Individual account prevails. P. 8 http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/UnderstandingOrionADAuthentication.pdf

Using the steps I described, you can craft a statement 'SELECT * FROM WHERE ' With this limited number of rows, make your edits. This can limit the number of places things can go wrong, as you are only touching the rows that match your SELECT statement.
-
It's not without it's risks, but you can edit data in the database (similar to working with a spreadsheet). If this is out of your comfort zone, you might enlist the support of a DBA. You would definitely want backups. Edit database fields Edit database fields You can edit database fields in the Database Manager. We do not…

* date & time of the order 09/08/2015 * items Pint Glass * quantities 2 Points were deducted, but I never got the usual email or for that matter the shipping confirmation web page. This could create issues with beer consumption in the future. Help!

Orion module NTA would be better for this task, assuming you have network gear capable of reporting flow data: https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/netflow-traffic-analyzer-nta

Or perhaps SolarWinds could go back to their Linux roots.

If you need to add hundreds of nodes at a time (or even a few dozen) adding secondary IP addresses to a layer three switch can get you there. The original post kind of solved an issue for me except it did not scale as far as what I'm describing. What I described allowed for adding more than 500 nodes that were not yet…

So which of the ways discussed most closely meets your requirements with respect to one-offs/ being cookie-cutter/ intuitive? Your goal: ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Is there a better way to build the SQL filter--preferably without using Custom Properties?…
-
You can autopopulate *groups* based on different criteria such as custom properties. Then, from admin guide (alert part of below is out of scope for your question--step 6 is part you are interested in): Edit group properties or change the group members You can edit the properties of an existing group, or add and remove…

I think you will see that SQL and SWQL queries ignore view filters on the page. Which actually comes in handy sometimes. Just not for this use case.
-
Are you as averse to using groups here as you are to using custom properties here?
-
jeffreyc, group also needs to be defined (advanced option on groups): Status Rollup Mode: Mixed status shows warning or Status Rollup Mode: Show worst status (from your post this seems like what you're looking for) Leaving this set to 'Show best status' will keep your alert from acting the way you desire.

Have any limitations? https://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/orionplatform/content/core-using-report-limitation-categories-sw3107.htm

Use custom property assignment for desired nodes. Then create group with membership dynamically assigned where that property matches. See step 5: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/orionplatform/content/core-creating-groups-sw2591.htm_

Without NTM module, I would do something like this (thanks Karlo.Zatylny) SELECT * FROM NodeCiscoCdpEntries WHERE NodeID = <your node id here where you are expecting the connection> SELECT * FROM NodeL2Connections WHERE NodeID = <NodeID> SELECT * FROM NodeLldpEntries WHERE NodeID = <NodeID> Further reading:…

This headache arose again today. I had to delete a node and it was one of the 715 in my list of nodes in the unmanage job. As the Unmanage Task Editor has no ability to find a node or sort the list, it can get cumbersome to locate the node needing to be removed from the unmanage task. I ended up creating a custom property…

Set to dynamic and you will see IP changes in Events. https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/Set_the_Dynaminc_IP_Address_option_in_NPM Search 'Node Changed' here for how this can look:…

http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/IPSLA/docs/VNQMAdministratorGuide.pdf Check out ICMP Echo IP SLA operations. Cisco routers can be configured for IP SLA from CLI, so lack of SNMP access is not a show-stopper for you. VNQM can monitor IP SLA operations, whether it configured them or not. Is there a Cisco device in…

You could try this: https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/NPM_Network_Topology_displays_interfaces_as_Unknown NPM Network Topology displays interfaces as Unknown Overview This article discusses how to address the issue where interfaces are displayed as Unknown in the Node Details…

chad.mullins, have you had a chance to try any of this?

https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Create-an-alert-based-on-a-SNMPv3-trap-condition-received-by-Orion-NPM Are you sending traps?…

On the very first screen when creating a UDP you can just type the name of the new group you would like (instead of selecting Default or Example). Via Report Writer, the poller 'Group Name' can be used as a criteria.

Try the first twenty-one steps here: https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/How-to-unmanage-groups-of-nodes

Have you tried this approach with Groups? Use a custom property and the conditions you specified as dynamic queries. It might simplify your alert. The creation of the group might benefit you in other ways (page limited by membership in that group). Admin --> Manage Groups -->

I would query the MIB (via SNMPwalk) from the SUSE server itself and be content as long as SolarWinds showed the same thing as SUSE. http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/ucdavis.html 13 memShared INTEGER32 ReadOnly .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.13 The total amount of real or virtual memory currently allocated for use as shared memory.…

Digging around my SolarWinds modules and databases to change service account passwords is particularly painful. Sometimes it's tough to be sure the account I want to change is the one I really the one I am looking at in the user interface. I have a large number of service accounts and I work with different teams for…

Justin, have you tried accessing via IP address, by hostname, and by FQDN? You didn't mention it, so I'll ask. Do you use single sign on? If so, is your SolarWinds server listed in Internet Explorer 'Intranet Sites'?

Any alternatives to GoTo Meeting? We use SAM and Splunk, but I don't expect a GoTo Meeting to work from here...never has before.
