Hi rgward, I checked NCM 7.3.1 and everything works as expected -- when you import a config in the Web UI, it's immediately visible in the config list. How exactly would you want to specify/select the group of configs to be marked baseline? Regards, Jiri

Alexander, What you describe is currently a feature request: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1182 There are some rather complex workarounds for this but nothing out of the box. Regards, Jiri

Hi Darryl, Please work with our support, they will be able to generate the license key even though your NCM is offline. Regards, Jiri

Hi, Adding some (hopefully) helpful stuff: * Cisco IOS Upgrade Config Change Template - recent switches, no reload * In NCM Web Console: Regards, Jiri

Hi, The note about integration you quoted is specific to 6.1 vs 6.2. If you run SRM 6.2 and Profiler 6.2.1, you can upgrade Profiler to 6.2.3 and leave SRM Orion unchanged. We don't know of any issues in this case. Jiri

Alex, In a config change template, you can reference node properties and inventory data (see admin guide) but not the configuration. Jiri

Hi sja, I don't know whether any customer of ours has 0 Cisco devices, but I know for sure that some customers have majority of non-Cisco equipment. Typical examples are Juniper, Brocade, F5 (as suggested by Flo), Dell/Force10, HP, etc. Generally, any device with CLI and text configs should work with NCM. Regards, Jiri

Hi, The below guidelines are meant for a large Orion deployment (e.g. NPM, NCM, and IPAM together). If you only plan to deploy NCM, a little less powerful system should be OK. Orion Server (with NCM) -- physical or virtual * Quad Core Processor 3GHz or better * 16-32GB RAM * 2 x 146GB 15k Hard Drives (RAID 1/Mirrored…

Don, Aren't you talking about the following functionality: If yes, can I close your feature request as "Implemented"? Regards, Jiri

Hi campbrs, It's not possible. If you want, you can create a feature request here: Network Configuration Manager Feature Requests. Regards, Jiri

Hi , NPM and NCM have separate licensing. When you want to add a node to NCM ("licensed by NCM"), it must be in the NPM database. However if you don't monitor any element (the node itself, its interfaces or volumes) in NPM, it doesn't use any NPM license. Regards, Jiri

Hi, You add nodes to SolarWinds Platform (a.k.a. Core) database and then you can specify ports that should be monitored by UDT. If you want to uncheck L2 or L3 in bulk, you can select multiple nodes on the node management page and then the change will be applied to all selected. Regards, Jiri

Hi stingcb, Could you please specify more exactly what you are looking to do with these devices? Do you want to e.g. monitor availability, back up configs, report on changes etc.? Thanks, Jiri
-
Hi, You should be able to do it. Hight level steps: * Create two custom custom config types. * Define values of these config types and modify the download command accordingly in the device templates for any device you want to use. * Create a scheduled job that will back up these two config types for selected devices.…

Hi, Please check the following steps whether they are what you want. * I assume that you have the 'Department' custom property available and filled for each node. * Go to NCM node management page (NCM Web Console) -- multiple ways to get there, one example below. * Group the nodes according to Department -- sorry, I have…

Hi , As I replied in the referred thread, .NET 3.5 is not required because of the Web Access part but because of licensing framework. If you believe that the installer can't detect correctly whether .NET 3.5 is already installed, please open a support case and we will investigate the details. However, if you are running…

Hi, How about the following default report in NCM 7.4? It's under Home -> Reports -> category NCM Node Details -> report Connection Profiles. Jiri

Hi Colin, I think that depends on what exactly you want to monitor. Probably some summary counters are available via SNMP but you'll need netflow for full details. Regards, Jiri

Hi, Are/were you able to fix the rule? If yes, you can post the policy report in the Content Exchange area for NCM policy Documents. Regards, Jiri

Hi nks7892, It depends on your maintenance status. If you have active maintenance for CatTools, you can download the latest version from your customer portal. If you don't have a valid maintenance contract for CatTools, you will have to pay for upgrade. Technically, you will use a new activation key for the latest version…

Hi codylowman, It's currently not possible to automatically remediate policy violations. You can create an idea here: Network Configuration Manager Feature Requests. Regards, Jiri
