Exactly, it is only an option not to use ssh1 but you can't prohibit it. NCM uses SSH client, the device plays the role of SSH server. So if you configure all your devices to use SSH2 only, that could help. Jiri

Hi lilysilver, Is the configuration you want to back up a text file / terminal output, or a binary file? Regards, Jiri

In the meantime, if you want to understand a little bit more how NCM downloads the configs, it's worth checking this post: .

Hi, you can use custom properties in config change templates like this: @ContextNode.MyCustomProperty I will publish a blog post on this topic soon and add the link here. Regards, Jiri

Hi whitejcdc, the option to omit "no changes" from change report is already tracked as feature request #90604. Regards, Jiri

I would leave the fixed source IP field blank.

John, Would the obvious workaround (scheduling a separate job to reboot) work for you, or would you like me to try to find some solution offline? Regards, Jiri
-
Jeff, I understand your concern. However it would cost a lot to maintain versions for so different platforms (Windows, Linux) and this requirement is not very frequent. Regards, Jiri

Ok, can you show me a screenshot of the SSH login session and config download command? Jiri

Hi, Go back one step in the wizard (to "General Device Access") and try the Test button at the bottom. Even if the test succeeds, inspect details by clicking on "Show credential login details". You may find a hint there. Jiri

Please let us know the result of the support case. Jiri

Hi Steve, Honestly, although it's not possible with scripts only, maybe Config Change Templates could help although you cannot schedule them. If you consider the full strength of CCTs with all the if-then-else control + the ability to use commands from device templates (see ), maybe you could achieve what you need. Sorry,…

Hi, To prevent an Orion account from accessing configs through the UI, you must not let the user access NCM at all. This can be done by assigning NCM Role "None" (Settings -> Manage accounts). NCM always stores the downloaded configs to the SQL DB. Thus, you must secure your DB in order to prevent unauthorised access.…

Hi Horch, We have a fix ready -- please open a support case. Regards, Jiri

Hi, This looks quite complex. I would probably ask support for help. Jiri

Hi, It's difficult to say without further details what the problem could be. I suggest opening a support case. Jiri

Hi l.abusaada@protech-jo.com, You have to modify the user account you are logged under to NCM. * What user am I logged in as? You can find it in the top right corner: * Log in as administrator (admin) and go to Settings -> User Accounts -> Manage Accounts. * Edit the account from step 1 and set the NCM Role (under Network…

Sorry, I thought you resolved this issue but it was something else.

Hi, This scenario would only be possible when NCM was provided with the complete script. That means, there would have to be an additional step between 4. and 5. -- e.g. an power shell script that would take output from Athena FirePAC, create the configuration script and then call NCM to execute it. Regards, Jiri

Hi Jon Frazier, Greek/Roman mythology could be interfering with NCM internal codenames, but that's no longer the case . Regards, Jiri

Yes, I think the menu item actually has "setup" in its name before you use the License Manager for the first time. If you can't figure it out, feel free to open a support case. Jiri

kaorlo, Please take a look here: . Although you can't iterate through interfaces directly, if you are able to match blocks corresponding to interfaces, you get what you need. Jiri

Hi Jonny, answering "Next step is to try and figure out how I can apply the same templates against multiple FWSM and ACE modules all running differently named contexts. And have them all bundled into the one scheduled job." You can add all the devices and contexts into one job but then you receive errors (which you can…

Rick, Yes, I think you are talking about Core/NPM Hot Fix. I believe you should open a support case so that we can investigate properly. Jiri

Hi Kelly Brown, Have you considered upgrading NPM to the newest version (currently 11.0.1) and then installing NCM 7.3.2 on the same machine? Maybe it would require less effort in total than a complicated upgrade path. Regards, Jiri

I have moved the thread to a different space as your request doesn't seem to be related to NCM. Still it would be useful to provide more details on what you want to achieve. Jiri
