Figured out the issue. NCM 7.0.2 is incompatible with SDK 1.5. I uninstalled 1.5 and installed 1.4. Works like a champ!

How do I access the SAM template custom properties in the Alert Manager?
-
I was running this from NCM (version 7.0.2) server where I installed the SDK (version 1.5) and was receiving this error. Get-SwisData : There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://localhost:17777/SolarWinds/InformationService/v3/Orion/ssl that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP…

So, would the variable name in the Trigger Action section be APM_Applications.CustomProperties.CustomPropertyName? Thanks!

Chris, Is your report schedule setup up to publish? Also, make sure the report schedule has an email recipient. I had the same problem where the schedule never updated the reports like it should have because there was no reecipient, so I added a dummy email recipient. Take a look at the webserver log for some hits at why…

No, I was not suggesting that. I was only replying with a solution that I found to work around Profiler's reporting frequency limitation.

Tim, Is there any chance you have documentation on setting up dependencies? -Shane www.loop1systems.com

I had to restart the information service on the Orion server.
-
Dave, Glad to see that you have it working!
-
Aliendan, I just did some testing with SolarWinds SEUM product (www.solarwinds.com/.../application-monitoring-software.aspx) to simulate the manual running of scheduled published report, and it was successful. I had SEUM simulate the following: * A login to Profiler * Click reports menu item * Click report schedules *…

Tim, That helped a ton! The only thing I had trouble with, but I managed to figure out was adding containers as a member to another container. -Shane www.loop1systems.com

derhally, I know it has been a while since the last post on this. Has this issue been resolved?
-
Does anyone happen to know if this is the same vulnerability that was in the previous version, and if so, does it's application in the previous version prevent the product from experiencing this in 5.2?
-
Bounced the information services and the GUI is looking good now.

Sorry, what I meant to say was that I set up Profiler to use AD authentication. The AD users are able to login fine. I created a non-AD user in Profiler and was not able to login using that user. Is this standard that once AD authentication is setup, non-AD users are no longer able to login to Profiler, or is this a bug?

Can you verify that you have turned on Statistics Logging on each Storage Processor? For instructions on enabling, take a look at the bottom of page 22 through page 23 in Solarwinds SMI-s troubleshooting guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/profiler/docs/SMISProvider.pdf. There are also additional things to look…

Good catch Danielle, URL has been corrected above.

Mav, Below is an exception we are seeing over and over in the C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\OrionWeb.log. It seems like everytime we try to manage groups or go to the Groups page, we see this exception. Any thoughts? Thanks, Shane www.loop1systems.com 2012-07-05 13:18:15,907 [67] WARN…

dawilsonvette also if you add the JVM argument "-WHDENableSQLTool=true" to the JAVA_OPTS section of the whd.conf file as mentioned here in the admin guide (JVM arguments - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support) You can go to http://YOURHELPDESKIPADDR/helpdesk/WebObjects/Helpdesk.woa/wa/DBActions/sqlTool, login as…

Does anyone have parameter documentation on CreateContainer? I have passed all sorts of data to it and am not able to get anything to work. I keep getting 'cannot unpackage parameter' on anything I try. Thanks, -Shane http://www.loop1systems.com
-
Thanks for the info!
-
In addition to Sohail's suggestions, you could use the Orion SDK (documented here: ) to fill these properties in based on some criteria or a csv file on a scheduled basis. Shane Loop1 Systems Inc. | Professional Solarwinds Services

Ended up deleting the user id with the garbage, and the list is now correct.

Derhally, Thanks for confirming this. I have a few questions: * What would I do with the other modules, such as SAM? Do I need to replicate the apm_alertsandreportingdata view using swql to get to the component data? What about Groups? Will getting to the Nodes, Interfaces and Volumes tables take care of everything? * When…

Danielle, I just wanted to make it clear that the post you mentioned is only for pulling data from MySQL using Microsoft SSIS. It is not inteneded to replace the MySQL database with MS SQL.
-
I have found an answer using apm to pull back from the registry and wmi. Good stuff!
-
Deltona, That is what I have done as of right now. Do you happen to know of what the disk statuses would be that are not OK? I know we might eventually run into them with it setup like that, but would like a list if possible.

Saranya, should the info gathered by the server_export command be displayed on in the reports on the NAS Shares tab? If not, what populates those reports?
