It started working again but I did notice in the server log that the wmi service had failed. Definitely something up with the server itself. I will do the suggested next time it happens to see if that resolves the issue.

Hmmm, I have it in mine. Let me look at my poller and share that to see if we have that set up different somehow. Also what versions of Orion are you using?

I took this portion, grabbed the OID I needed to create an alert for when a unit went onto battery power per customer request. THANKS!!!! Using the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.1.1, I created the UNDP and then an alert that will trigger when the output is "3" Just wanted to say thanks smartd CustomPoller…

The only issue I see with that HemiTruck is trap will fill up the page quickly and you miss some of the other alerts, plus you aren't able to select multiple filters on one trap which completely sucks! We have operators watch the event log and we have filters so they only see what they have to perform an action. Traps are…
-
We didn't experience that at all. As soon as it would happen the alert would trigger within about 30 seconds.
-
So what do you need to first install this on? The main SW poller?
-
Does anyone have an answer to the above question regarding 1000's of interfaces? This I'm having to add everytime I see the new interface sending info to Orion.
-
I could most def be missing something in the manual or have something set incorrectly, but does UDT show when a port is err-disabled? I've found so far it does not. If not, may I suggest that as a feature request? It would be AWESOME to have create an alert to let us know.

Very COOL!

I actually do! Well I hope this helps. Go to the alert and change the alert trigger item from APM Hardware etc to just Hardware in the pull downs. See the information below. Hardware Health: Unknown net object prefix: "AH", "AHT", "AHS" error from Active Alerts resource. Issue: You receive the following for hardware…

What version of UDT are you on? We seem to be experiencing the same thing...
-
HTML, CSS nothing. I suppose I'll submit a ticket and see if someone at Solarwinds actually knows.

Orion Universal Device Poller with transform results with the formula {ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusValue}CtoF( ) works BUT when you hit 0 celsius, it goes haywire. Looking for that solution to that now.
-
Check timing in your events list to see when the device shows down and the time of the alert, if you haven't completed that already. Also, on an alert, check the first screen to see how often you are looking to see if the device is down. You may already have looked at all this.

Any update on this issue? The ability to monitor without the use of MIB's?
-
Were you able to create or find a solution by chance?
-
Do you still need assistance with this? There are quite a few ways you can approach this to obtain the desired result. One way is to create an exclude statement in the alert to not alert on the volume. Example Or since it's just the media volume you can always just not monitor it at all (un-check when adding the node to…

May I ask what type of Property To Monitor do you have it set on in the Actual alert?
-
I know! I'm just completely stumped on how to use a variable in it plus I had a bit of help from my server guys before :-D here is an example .exp_20160208_100315 it's like a date and time stamp

Ironically enough, years later I'm also having the same issue and it seems to be messing things up.
-
Having the same issue here and there. It's very frustrating and we've upgraded to the most recent releases of everything. It seems like it broke two or three upgrades ago. I also tried the above fix but we didn't have it checked off to begin with. By the looks of it, it seems quite a few others are having the same issue…
-
Do you have auto discovery on? The reason I ask is because we go through this quite a bit actually but we don't have auto-discovery on either. I could be speaking out of line or on the wrong thing but it's the way SW tags the volume or drive and when it changes it doesn't see it unless you auto discover and accept or if…

tbell52, Was someone able to write that script for you and is there a way or would you mind sharing it with us? I'm looking for somewhat the same thing that if it sees a .txt file and that file is over 15 minutes old, alert. I'm hoping if you were able to accomplish it, it would at least give me some headway with what we…

Having the same issue. Will try this but if it doesn't work I'm putting in a ticket. I'm tired of being called around 2 am almost EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. It's almost like clockwork. Driving me crazy.
-
To add, I've now found active alerts that triggered for no appearant reason when doing the upgrade that should have cleared but have not and regardless of acknowledging them, if they trigger again an alert won't be created due to them already being triggered. So I'm going now online to create a ticket.
-
Yeah I made a mistake when I sent the message missing that ". I did what you suggested and it works, it just would be MUCH easier if I it would allow you to put AND in between the keywords to tell it that it has to meet all the word requirements. I greatly appreciate your suggestion. I was completely like DOH!, uh why…

Change Status to Value is Equal to :-) I created the same alert a while back.
