I'm way overdue to learn scripting. With some effort, I can probably get to wluther's "just enough" level.
-
Same here. It doesn't apply to me currently but it's good information for the future.

No. Verisign VIP and Google Authenticator are both timer based, much like a physical token.

Apparently I don't have permission to create requests there. maria.bungau, can you help with that?

I'm also looking to expand on this. To that end I'm attending today's Solarwinds Lab, and also looking forward to seeing what you have to say over the next few weeks. Thanks for posting!

Congrats to the winners!

Agreed. Ultimately I had to decide that the lack of specificity with "multiple" was probably telling me something, and took the leap of faith.
-
Agreed. In my case, I'm starting to get into the virtualization tools, however. (Solarwinds Virtualization Manager).

...or the last person who should have updated it, but didn't.

A well managed network stays out of the way of business functions. The biggest part of that is proactive management. Monitoring and management of changes is huge in making that happen.

Congratulations!

Glad it's fixed! I was worried that I was posting too much and you didn't want to encourage me!

This should be resolvable in the client's device configuration by adding the logging source-interface ifname command in the target device's global configuration (or equivalent command if it's a non-Cisco device), where ifname is the name of the interface with the management address. This will cause all Syslog traffic from…

Great article, adatole. Just this morning I was chatting with a friend who also works in IT about Citrix and Winterms, and made the analogy that, at its core, a Winterm is basically a dumb terminal.

I'll also echo cahunt's sentiment. We're more new than old, but as in any large organization, inertia can take hold in certain ways as well.
-
That seems like a lot. Why not create a group email address in your mail system for this?
-
DanielleH, can this be moved to NPM Feature Requests? Thanks!
-
Yes! Answered correctly!

It seems our telecom group will look at stats like the MOS and reach out to us in the NOC to check network congestion and QOS settings if they think it's network related.
-
We had a couple Windows 200 machines that were needed for a few particular applications for about 2 years past the end of extended support. I was asked to put in a rule on our web filter blocking all Internet access to and from those computers to help mitigate the risk.
-
I believe this is already handled in Alert Central, which is free.

Congratulations to the winners!

Management never wants to be that company, but the question is, how much are they willing to spend to not be that company? At some point, you inevitably reach a tipping point where the additional cost outweighs the additional benefit.

That is an OLD video on today's question hint. The walkthrough is on the old console version of the app! Any chance this will be updated for the web interface? Someone getting started today likely wouldn't find much value in the walk-through; it can't be done that way any more.
-
Ok fair enough. Something from a UX led me to believe this might be in the works; maybe that was on the NPM side or maybe I'm mis-remembering. Either is possible.
-
+1 for this. If you're able to record it (I understand space is limited) that would be awesome.
-
I was out of the office unexpectedly and missed the last 2 days of the quiz... bummer.
-
Google Authenticator is handy. I use it for my mail accounts, my password manager, and some other stuff as well.
-
I'd really like us to have more in this area. More visibility into our storage and virtualization environments would be helpful. Convincing the bean counters of this is always the hardest part.
