It looks like you are still running NPM version 10.6. The ability to set independent node thresholds was introduced in version 10.7, and in fact version 11.0 was just released today. Are you able to upgrade?

Cisco also does not generate the Syslog entry until you exit out of global config mode. You don't have to save, but you do have to exit or ^Z before the Syslog entry is written on Cisco.

Absolutely katieb! I'll message you with my phone number.

Any chance you would be able to share this on Content Exchange?

Does your firewall support DCE/RPC inspection? If so you may be able to have your firewall administrator configure it to open only TCP port 135 and then to dynamically allow traffic based on the observed initialization requests sent via the RPC Portmapper service. DCERPC inspection on ASA/PIX/FWSM | Firewalling | Cisco…

SAM version 6.2 introduces the option to use agents for situations like this where you need to limit open ports, and I would recommend using the agent in this case. Using the agent in Server-Initiated mode requires only a single port open. You can read more at…

Yes.

What are you hoping to accomplish with the voice call that you can't accomplish with SMS?
-
Figured as much. That's the one that usually gets me and I'd be down to waiting for support at this point. If you don't mind reporting back on the fix, I'd be curious to hear what it was. We're planning to upgrade in about 2 weeks, depending on the experiences others here in the forum have.

Awesome, and good to know about the 5 minutes. Thanks mrs.alterego!

That's strange. It works for me just fine. I usually just use Alt+PrtScrn and crop in Paint, but that shouldn't matter. As a workaround, could you upload to http://tinypic.com and link us?

I don't run all of the same modules you do, so I can't comment on the steps you've listed. It seems to me at first glance, however, that you should be able to go in larger steps than that. You don't have to hit every intermediate version to upgrade. You are correct in allowing significant time for the DB migration in phase…

I just tried the import over HTTP and got the same error.
-
Apparently it does, though I have to go directly to the web server to get to it instead of through the F5. If I go through the F5 it redirects to HTTPS.

Good to know. A bad default is probably worse than making the field optional; at least if it's not populated you KNOW you have a problem. That's a great topic for me to bring up for discussion. Right now I'm leaning toward alerting rather than forcing entry via the system, at least until the ability to set a default is…

I was able to bookmark this thread just fine, but I tried bookmarking three additional threads in the Product Blogs section and they all gave me the same error. Clearing cookies doesn't help, but I suspected it wouldn't because I'm having the issue in two different browsers. EDIT: I can also bookmark in Geek Speak just…

Can you kick off a maintenance, and then let me know how much space is left on your log drive once it fails?
-
I'm aware of that option, however I don't have access to the filesystem and wanted to know if importing via the web GUI was supported.

Windows does not support Syslog (that is, it does not natively send logs in the Syslog format). Solar Winds does support log aggregation using a separate product called Log & Event Manager, or you can collect logs centrally using a Windows Log Subscription Server.

I tested this by running one of the UnDPs we had assigned. All polled successfully and none originated these alerts.
-
I tried that (Alert if condition occurs X times in Y minutes (on same device)) and got no replies.
-
If the ICMP is blocked, then polling would report the device as down. If you have SNMP access to the device, you can select the option to use SNMP instead of ICMP to report the device status.

Are you from Lancaster? I used to work right up the road from that address.

Thanks for following up with the answer.

I actually participate in Challenge Walk MS, as a walker in Maryland and as a SAG driver and HAM radio operator in SC (moving to GA for 2015). Before Maryland changed dates and Philadelphia combined with the Maryland walk, I used to walk in Philadelphia and drive SAG and work communications at the MA and MD walks. I also…

Thanks ! That helped me too.

This would have been my first question today. I didn't clear the browser cache, but I did try a different browser.

aLTeReGo is correct, as usual, on the path format. Disregard what I said about the E:\.
